23 goes more in depth but ancestry is much cheaper. You can then take your ancestry data to myheritage for free and get your results from them as well (they put it into a more modern context)

according to my maths i should get 10.5 million lol, for you maybe around a million, not bad

honestly don't really know much about my heritage. all I know my ancestors came from northern india in mid 1800s to an island called mauritius and that's where my parents are from.

Great grandparents on my mother's side were from Italy (Sicilian and Northern Italian). Father's side was a mix of German and French Canadian and who knows what else.

I took 2 of these tests years ago, one from ancestry and one from 23andme.

German/italian/polish/norwegian/greek

Couple small percentage ones but 100% european.

what's interesting to me is my brother did one of those sites, so that's how i know my guesstimates. i kinda want to get one because i want to see if we are differing amounts, but i don't want to give a company my chit

They're definately worth it if you dont mind having to pay the money.

You will find out a lot more than you thought.

From growing up i was always told i was german/italian/polish and only found out the rest from the tests.

Interestingly the only part i was given specifics on was the norwegian. Western norway, vestland.

Me and my sister did this with the same website. We got this for xmas to do this exact thing.

I'm more swedish, she was more english/irish. She's a short blonde, and I'm a tall bald bearded viking. The percentages were different. I had a tiny bit of eastern European, and she had native american. Everything else was the same locations/areas.

Indian. Uttar Pradesh/northern region. Mixed with a bunch of random chit (some cousins look legit asian, some middle eastern, my dad looks pretty white and has blue eyes, sister is paler than a nordic chick, other cousins look mexican, my favorite cousin legit passes for black-if he shaved his head (the baldcel really should, but heโ€™s in cope mode, one handsome fuker tho, etc). Iโ€™ll get some kind of test done someday. Wonโ€™t matter in the long run though, in our generation, family has married Asian people (my wife is Korean), Italian, West African, British, etc. BBQs are like united nations meets.

Mother is roughly half Native American (Comanche) and half Irish/Scottish.

Father was half Italian (Sicilian) and half German. Fathers Sicilian side supposedly has Sephardic Jewish ancestry (however I found no actual proof of this)

I think 23andme gives you more information. They change up stuff sometimes though. Used to be a timeline under ancestry that estimated the time period when different groups likely entered your family tree. I have 1% Native American and I could swear that it even specified a general geographic area. Mainly thought that was cool because my grandpa used to say we had "French Indian" ancestry and maybe we do.
