Those modern day pics are stunning... impressive and mind numbing too.

I remember watching a documentary about the Manhattan project and that numerous scientist were worried they would ignite the atmosphere during the first testings and literally destroy the WORLD.

yea probably. they would have done the same thing. drop nukes until the other side gave up.

what is intredasting to note is that project manhattan would have likely not started if einstein hadnt pleaded with FDR after einstein was made aware that scientists over in germany had discovered nuclear fission.


the Nazis actually had a head start on nuke development but due to being so occupied with the war they lagged behind. they also were very close to full development of ICBM's... imagine if the Nazis had been first to not only develop nukes but were also able to couple them with ICBM's. fuark. we'd all be wearing some funny looking logos with eagles on them right now.

Why did they have to drop it in a populated civilian zone? Why didn’t they just drop a smaller nuke on military base and government buildings?

Its revenge for pearl harbor lol. Plus, the americants can't fight for chit so they had to play dirty. A regular invasion would've kilt thousands of Americants.

Like I said before. Americants paint a picture of themselves as victors but wars are fought over long periods of time, usually with no victor. The only way to win is by cheating.

There was no way the amaericants were going to give up that massive amount of land. They'd rather drop nukes on different countires. This time around tho, nukes can be rendered useless.
