There is 0 chance a unarmed man could beat even an adolescent silverback. Litterally 0.
Silverbacks have fangs the size of a lion, more bite strength than any cat by more than double i believe, and has opposable thumbs on 4 limbs. They are also scary strong and scary fast. Even if a man had a sword the silverback would probably still 90% odds to win if its full grown.

I guess its time to start training again.

It happened so fast. So much power, and speed; and they are so graceful it seems like they float and don't even touch the ground. Scary as SHYT, I wonder if a silverback would stand a chance against a brown bear.

Looked up brown bear, maybe not newly turned silverback gorilla but full grown silverback at 6'0 500 pounds can give brown bear a fight eventho bear still holds 200 pounds weight advantage

One hit from a Gorilla and any human on the planet will go down. The mass behind their punch is 5-9 times stronger than a human, meaning no human being has ever come close to being hit that hard by another person in a fight. No amount of strength training in can overcome something five times stronger than a peak human. Unarmed combat the gorilla could probably kill 10 top tier trained martial artists at once.

Humans use weapons to fight. Unarmed combat is a sport. That's why MMA is horrible for self-defense. You want to defend yourself properly you need a weapon.

judo and grappling are made for human attackers, the mechanics are different. Have you seen the skeletons of gorillas? humans are frail wimps in comparison, its joints and bones are so much stronger and you wont last long with the strength differential.

If you look at something like gator wrestling, its a skill unto itself, they dont send judo masters to catch gators, because the mechanics are different.
