This is all kind of oldcel mentality tbh srs. I have huge respect for Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, Rakim etc, but Em is from a completely different era and to be honest, make completely different music. It could almost be seen as a different genre entirely. I never got why people try to lump everyone together under a single umbrella when they are nothing alike.

For example:

Snoop Dog songs are all about his flow and his smooth style.

Eminem style is about showcasing his lyrical technical ability. And he is arguably the most technical mainstream rapper there ever was. He began as a battle rapper after all.

The first thing he mentions is Eminem being white lol

????

Snoop is very low IQ and also clearly a racist

He's extra triggered that a whiteboi is the best to ever do it in a so-called "black" genre

Eminem is pretty trash these days but he still has insane word play and skill. He has just been going full retard with his flow and beat selection for quite a while.

SSLP
MMLP
The Eminem Show

The guy put out three 10/10 albums in three years.

I'll accept any argument that he isn't the GOAT, because it's very subjective, but to say he isn't top 10? LMAO. That goes beyond subjectivity into being a blatant hater/racist.

I guess Snoop Dogg is an extreme example of the mentality of the time but its kinda just different now. Its a subtle layer of SOME of the positive things about insane liberal culture because it also canibalizes some of the bad parts of society even if its balanced towards one side a majority of the time.

Its definitely inefficient too
I can totally understand him listening those pioneer rappers as 'greater' to Snoop than Em since that is what he listened to growing up, but if he's saying they are technically better I mean come on... LL Cool J? lol

If Eminem was black, Snoop would be riding his nuts

Snoop has been relevant as a "celebrity stoner" rather than rapper for a long time now

This. Lol at the irony. Snoop dog too regarded to know he’s being racist

im not even an Eminem fan, but his superiority (in the mainstream) is obvious. I only listen to underground and battle rap and Em used to compete in the Scribble Jam tournaments. Got his azz handled by Dos One

Yeah as someone who used to be into the music production scene the truth is ultimately even for someone like me Eminem was always in a different bracket than traditional rap artists.

So secretly Snoop Dogg is technically just being misunderstood of what he is trying to express, that its a different type of flavor, and its not coincidence that he was more of a polar opposite in what his appeal was; authenticity and flavor vs technical lyricism. In fact he's probably the most legendary basic rapper with style and having the look.

So in that sense Eminem was delivering something completely different and that's all he was trying to express. Eminem is a multi layered entertainer beyond just music he's more like a carnie superstar.

Bigger than mere rap.

So its true that hip hop fans of any race didn't see Eminem in the traditional sense. And although his argument wasn't concise and kinda sloppy and loose, the thesis was concise. At least to me. I felt the same way to be honest.

Before rap music died some of it was the authenticity of the mirror of the human condition and urban cultures commentary on the rawness of life. The exotic nature of the reflection.

Eminem didn't actually deliver that nor try to.

And to be honest for the whole lack of lyrical depth reason Snoop is "chronically" left off many lists. How many times has Eminem compiled some name dropping compositions and blatantly left out Snoop of the mix because he's not his idea of nerd lyrical

But yeah Eminems response to this already exists:

"I got a list, here's the order of my list that it's in;
It goes, Reggie, Jay-Z, Tupac and Biggie
Andre from Outkast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas and then me
But in this industry I'm the cause of a lot of envy
So when I'm not put on this list the **** does not offend me"

Its funny seeing the internet bring up all these lyrics making Eminem seem like a victim of racism now lmao. its so ironic. I keep seeing people post emo Eminem lyrics like when he used to get all self reflective.

Eminem was good enough WAY back in the day to be signed with the best producer almost immediately. Dre couldn't wait to sign him.

Eminem brought 50 on.
