Happens to me all the time boyo. I think they smell you have no options or that you are too invested in them/needy. Yeah that's my number one issue : I always end up thinking that the one girl I'm seeing at the moment is the right one, my soulmate so I jump from one failure to another but this thought is still deeply rooted to my core.
