Nothing justifies keeping his knee on his carotid artery for 8 minutes, especially when it was obvious he passed out but I think a 2nd degree murder charge won't stick and he will at most get manslaughter. If by some snowball's chance in Hell he gets acquitted then every state should be prepared to meet force with superior force and by that I mean lethal because that is what will happen when the riots break out.

In Democrat ran sheitholes? Sure.
Here? nope
Nothing will happen here. Anyone who comes here trying to burn down houses or hurt anyone will get shot. People on my block, as an example, are armed, well aware of the law, have multiple police and lawyer relatives, family members, and friends who live here, and strategy and tactics have been discussed and even practiced. Some communist democrat retard tries to burn this house down with me in it, or tries to drag me out and kill me like they did to people recently, there is Fortress of a home with a 25 yard zeroed AR with a thousand rounds of ammo 5 seconds from me, and I shoot every week, many neighbors are same, and they are far angrier than I am at what they see on TV, my neighbors are literally foaming at the mouth, saying they will run protesters over and shoot on sight etc. I gotta calm them down and remind them of laws, over penetration, mercy etc. Many rioters are just naive moron kids, unless they try to kill you you should not kill them. But people are fed up. It will not go well for rioters if they try to come to suburbs.

He will absolutely walk. The only charge I could possibly see sticking would be some kind of negligence charge for not checking his vitals after he became unresponsive. But he's being charged with murder, so he will definitely be acquitted.

This forum is being flooded with this behavior as some sort of grooming tactic to convince people with certain political leanings to be ok with convicting someone in the court of public opinion.
And this is coming from me, a Hillary and Biden supporter who hates trump!
See what I did there?

Fair, I guess, in the sense that it doesn't directly affect you and that there's no real reason to pick up someone else's burden when no one does it for you. Humans definitely are selfish, which is why it is hard to have harmony in any sort of settlement that's bigger than a village in which everyone knows everyone else and is accountable to one another. I think there's even been research on the maximum size of a truly functional settlement and iirc it's something like 50 people. With that said, though, the reason that USA is/has been an attractive country to settle in is because generally speaking laws are adhered to and justice is served (usually). When this doesn't happen you get widespread corruption, dictatorship, crime and all the other ills we associate with the developing world. I have lived in both and I can tell you that when criminals go unpunished, things only deteriorate. This relates to the US because there have been studies on how police relationships and engagement with certain neighborhoods has been shown to affect crime rates. So if people don't trust the police (and they have a very legitimate reason not to) there is less trust in the justice system and i think that in some way contributes to higher crime rates. That last part is speculation but similar to your point; why would anyone play by the rules if the people enforcing the rules (police/courts/DAs) have been manifestly malicious for so long? Part of what makes people selfish is that they feel no one is in their corner, so to speak. If anyone should be in anyone's corner, it should be the justice department and police since they're public servants and are sworn to protect. They have to be held to the highest standard, and part of that involves being punished more severely for abuse of power and the betrayal of the public's trust.

The riots will be as unfounded as they always were. I hope the cop gets jail time personally for staying on his neck after he was clearly unconscious. That was inhuman at the least and although Floyd may/may not have deserved it for past crimes, this one was non violent.
Floyd had way more chances to comply than most would get. After the footage was released there was no indication whatsoever it had anything to do with race. I hope Trump has the military ready with rubber rounds and water cannons to back hand any of these commies who are thinking they’re going to tear down someone’s business.

Any question that starts with “so what you’re saying is” is rarely taken seriously by anyone.

“Definitely” is a very strong word.. anything can happen in the american criminal justice system.
If I had to bet, I’d say there’s no chance of second degree murder sticking because that requires intent, and there’s only a chance of 3rd degree murder IF he did something that wasn’t police procedure during the arrest/detainment.
As far as I know, those are the only charges the DA is filing.
