This. As others have said, strictly speaking of wrestling careers of course Hulk wins it, but overall fame and fortune? Chiiiiiiiiiiit, The Rock basically has the Midas Touch, damn near any project he dips his hand in turns to gold. And he is on track to be the highest paid actor for a second year running.

Hogan made WF(what it was called then) into a mainstream name. He is known as one of the goat. But based on everything from ratings to sales to sell out arenas to marketing to what Stone Cold and even more Dwayne Johnson did after leaving, they are both bigger than Hogan with The Rock being the largest success in wrestling history.

Hulkster wins it, but Rock is a close second based on his movie career. I look at it much like Jordan vs. Lebron. MJ is the icon and GOAT that everyone is compared against. Lebron may make more money, have more social media followers, and score more points than MJ. But he will never match MJ's status as the pro wrestling GOAT.

Hogan had (or can say made) some epic feuds and rivals in Andre the Giant, Snuka, Piper, Iron Sheik, Warrior, Macho Man, etc that Rock cant compete with since Rock wasnt primarily a wrestler.

Everyone had his Saturday morning cartoon back than...Rambo, Chuck Norris, Mister T, Robocop, Ghostbusters, literature critics Siskel and Ebert and even freaking Beetlejuice...
Hogan was an iconic figure, but he failed to capitalize on his fame outside of WWE. His movie career is a joke not just compared to the Rock's.

So yeah, I guess it depends on what you mean by fame. Hogan at his peak was a larger wrestler, than the Rock at his peak in WWE. The Rock's overall carer is way more impressive though.
