I've listened to a little bit of Galneryus, Angel of Salvation which is great and a couple others. The guitarist is amazing.

Lovebites actually toured with Dragonforce last year in Europe I think. The dual guitars and soloing are definitely similar to them as well as Priest. The bassist started the band and played in a Pantera cover band in high school, which is pretty awesome, and they bring in some classic thrash as well.

They are great live and had more clips on YT but they get pulled down constantly for copyright. Here are a couple more heavier album tracks.

Nice, I'll have to check out the album when it drops. Yeah the guitarist from Galneryus is among my favorite power metal guitarists. These 2 songs are probably my favorite songs by them.





Sounds like Lovebites has some decently varied style within the genre. They got good leads for sure.

Yeah it took me a while to finally check them out too. I'll admit I haven't listened to them all that much but they're definitely a band to check out if you like progressive death metal with symphonic elements.

Here's another similar band that isn't signed to Artisan Era. You may have heard of them tho.

Considering the bands posted ITT, I think you brahs might like this.

This is a band from my neck of the woods. They released this recently. Probably the most challenging album I've ever listened to. Had to do it in a few sittings. I can't even begin to wrap my mind around the process of composing a record like this.



Having said this, not my favorite style of metal, but extremely impressive nonetheless.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*
*Fat shame my cat on a daily basis crew*

Definitely man, there seems to be a lot of metal bands from Canada for some reason. I actually only recently started listening to them. I dig it but it can get a bit dissonant at times. That album kills tho.

I'm also a fan of Dysrhythmia which is another band the bassist and 1 of the guitarists is in.

I'll have to check out Solution .45 but I definitely liked Scar Symmetry's last album. Good mix of groove metal and melodeath.

Thanks for those Galneryus links, i hadn't heard those songs before and they're pretty awesome.

And yeah Lovebites is super talented and play a good mix of speed/power/heavy metal, with some lower key stuff and the classic metal power ballad here and there of course.

Found a link to Hammer of Wrath live from their recent concert bluray. Great song and really shows off both their live skills as well as a heavier sound.



Or for the exact other end of the spectrum, from their 2019 show they do a pretty epic power ballad. The singer is like the love child of Bruce Dickinson and Mariah Carey raised in Japan with a horrible accent lol but she kills it here.




After the ballad though, try another heavy/power metal band that I know has been around a while but i've never listened to til now, Sabaton. Guarantee this video will raise test levels at least 350%

Sick, I've never heard of these guys before. I definitely dig the modern production on that song. It makes the guitars and drums shine more. Wish more black metal bands would have better production.

Take a look at Testament's new record. Also, have a look at both Havok and Exhorder's new records. All amazing stuff.

Hell ****in yeah. Love Testament and I've only listened to some of this but it's great so far.

So after posting about Powerwolf i get this rec'd today by YT. The song is just OK though the video is LTC-approved but not exactly Christian friendly, unless you're a particular holy type who like corpse priests and stripper nuns.

For sure man. I'll be listening to some more power metal, it's been a while since I've really delved into the genre. Sabaton is a band I'm always hearing about but never got around to listening to. Definitely sounds different than I was expecting. I thought they were more of a thrash metal band. Anyway it's pretty good, I'm definitely mirin the video production on that music video. Is that from a movie or are these dudes loaded?

I discovered Nails after listening to Jim Wendler on a podcast. He was talking about how the band was talking about why their tracks are so short (many 30 second tracks). One guy said "You know that 10 minute song and you listen just waiting for that cool part? I only want to play that cool part." They just cut out the bullchit and all that is left is intense chaos.

Apparently it was made by the gaming company that makes the World of Warships games. Amazingly well done.

Unlucky Morpheus is pretty good. Symphonic heavy/power metal style with a full time violinist. Pretty unique sound. And the singer Fuki has what, 3 band's she's in? Their song Cadaver/Revadac where they play it all the way through then play it backwards with the sheet music inverted is pretty amazing. Like Asami from Lovebites, her voice is an acquired taste though. Obviously crazy skills but the overdone vibrato can be a bit much sometimes.

I've heard Heartless Scat from Ningen Isu. A true WTF moment but the song is pretty great. Never thought I'd dig Japanese Grandpa metal but here we are.

Angra is the greatest power/progressive metal band I've found recently. They are from Brazil.

Greatest black metal album last decade. Kaevum is a NSBM band from Norway.

NSBM from Canada. Those who like Burzum will really like this band.
Yeah man Angra is pretty legit. I'm not familiar with all their albums but really enjoyed Rebirth when I first listened to them. Their guitarist Kiko Loureiro plays in Megadeth now.



Those black metal bands are a little too raw production wise for me, but I can still appreciate it. It's part of the style for sure, but I think guitars and drums sound way better with modern production.

Nice, that second song starts out pretty heavy. I think the 30 second song is a grindcore thing. I know Napalm Death has short songs as well. It makes sense, since I usually like to listen to certain riffs on repeat instead of listening to a whole 3-4 minute song. However, I don't think I've heard a 30 second song that I've liked so far.

Cool I hadn't heard of them. Out of those songs I definitely like the second a little better. Guitars sound chunkier and more prominent. Decent riffs but too old school for my taste.

Not a newly discovered band, but thoughts on Corey Taylor's new single CMFT Must Be Stopped? I like both Slipknot and Stone Sour and was looking forward to his solo project so I was a bit WTF at this. I don't like **** like Limp Bizkit or rap and hip hop at all and can't wait for it to sleaze its way out of the mainstream (ok boomer, i know), but i can't lie this song is pretty fun (though not something I would pay for).
