I think there are issues at play. The first being that they are not married. It makes no sense for a boyfriend to financially support the girlfriend’s family. What happens if they break up and the boyfriend is out all that money.
The second issue is the amount needed to support the parents. Why do the parents need $3k a month? That’s money that could be used to support the couples financial future - house, kids, etc.
I have no issues with a married couple supporting their parents/in-laws if they need the help. I think that’s admirable and shows a strong familial relationship. A lot better than modern American society of sticking the parents in a geriatric home. Also, there’s no way that I would be sending out that much cash for the parents to live, but it’s all relative to how much you’re making.
At the end of the day, this isn’t my problem, nor my money. If someone wants to spend that much money on their not-even-in-laws, that’s their choice.

Pretty sure if I marry my GF she's going to want to support her parents eventually. However she has a million dollar life insurance policy on both of them. (So 2 mill. when they both die). Will inherit a massive house with a pool + pool house along with a few other properties.
I wouldn't wanna support some broke people that just never built assets/saved for retirement though.
