The $2K is for 3 times a week for three months, so 48 visits total.

There are great chiropractors out there. I always like to give people the benefit of doubt, he could just have been giving you an expectation on costs. But I've been put off by chiropractors that talk people into maintenance programs at the costs of thousands. A maintenance program should be a home exercise program that the therapist discharges you with after you are done in the clinic...
That being said there are scammers in every profession. My advice would be to find a reputable sports/exercise based physiotherapist and get an assessment by them to see how their program would be different. Then you can make an informed decision on what treatment route you would like to take. Don't just go to any physio/chiro without doing your research...

Last year I had a nerve pinched so bad, I was damn near crawling for 2 days. I literally needed help getting into the chiropractors office.
45 minutes later the pain went from a 9 to a 2 and I walked out like I was perfectly fine after being adjusted. So IMO yea, they're the real deal.
Edit: Back pains are a **** deal all around. Most of the time you've got two options: rest and hope it heals or if its something major: get cut on and that may or may not even help you - or make your pain and condition worse.

All it takes is Mookie Betts, Steph Curry, and Joe Burrow all sitting in the same car in order for one drunk driver to make the world a significantly better place.

I initially went because I was having some rib pains while breathing (According to her, subluxated rib), and also had a chronic issue with my right upper trap/next area getting exceedingly tight and painful to move/look around. After the first session, the rib pain was gone, and my neck felt significantly better. I really felt like there was a benefit, which is why I went for 6 months. she would do more or less the same stretches, cracking, and cupping exercises each time to, in her words, "loosen up the tightened muscles causing the pain and help open me up".
I eventually stopped going because I hadn't had the rib pain or tightened up neck/trap for months, and figured I didn't need to keep spending my money. The neck pain did come back, but now I just have my buddy who recommended me the chiro dig in there with his elbow for about 10 minutes or so whenever it really acts up, and that helps ease the pain a lot.
If you have a serious issue and want to see if there's a simple fix, I think 1 session with a chiro would be a good start. I wouldn't go just for the sake of going and to prevent anything in the future unless recommended by a doctor. I may be using her again soon as my neck has been acting up more than normal.
$2k for 3 months seems pretty steep though, unless you're seeing him multiple times per week. I pay $80 a session...so spent about $240 across those 6 months.

if it's a good chiropractor he could help, a ****ty one could just screw you up even more. my chiropractor also had a traction machine that he'd use that would help out. i'm not sure if all chiropractors offer the same services so its hard to say.
better question might be, is this one your seeing legit. instead of all chiropractors, because there are some good ones

My question is this, anyone been to a chiro, and if so, how were the results?

The body wants to "lean" in a direction and their job is to align it over time and "teach" it to be straight.
It cant happen over nights so the 10 visits are to "train" it to be aligned.
Every time i went i felt amazing only to have things slowly creep back in 1-3 weeks.
Try it at least once

You'd be better off going to physical therapy and correcting those imbalances through rehab work. The idea that someone else "manipulating" your spine to fix what is largely caused by (or supported by) muscle imbalances is ludicrous. Chiro helps some people but mostly if they go consistently meaning it's not a cure for the problem just a treatment of symptoms.

you'd be better off going to one of those nuru massage places. they can work out all the knots in your neck, back, gonads etc.

It won't fix a herniated disc.
I suggest going to a doctor affiliated with a McKenzie method PT to get evaluated.
If you have any radiating pain down your arm or leg that is a bad sign it's a herniated disc.

even if you did have a "misalignment" there's honestly nothing that could fix that unless you have surgery. LOL if you think his hands can produce enough force to "realign" your spine. The forces produced by just walking or running would ****ing destroy your spine. The spine and all of our joints in our body are extremely strong and resilient. Go to a physical therapist that's not connected with this retarded chiropractor and get your neck and back evaluated.
(I'm a PT)
those "adjustments" or "manipulations" are exactly like cracking your knuckles. you create a difference in pressure in the joint and it causes the popping noise. We don't know the exact science on why it feels good but the latest research shows that it stimulates mechanoreceptors in the cells which causes temporary pain relief. Physical therapists can perform the same exact "manipulations" that chiros can, but the difference between physical therapists and chiropractors is that we use it as a tool to reduce pain and then follow up active exercise and don't lie to you about some bull**** about "realigning your spine." Exercise is really whats going to make the long-term change for pain.
PTs are much better educated on the anatomy and physiology than chiropractors, the only reason chiros have more power than PTs is because half of their ****ing curriculum is marketing and they know how to scam the general public.

Chrios are excellent at using placebo and self confirmation to get people to feel better. some of their technqiues do have science behind actual benefit however their explanations are typically crock of ****.
theres a reason chiropractic schools are not public universities and why medical schools do not offer these programs. Its because it is fringe science at best, a step above crystal healing. Youll find some good ones that generally have developed clinical skills on their own. Most are out to scam you on "realignments" and "maintenance" programs.

I’ve been going to chiropractors for years. They’re quacks and will tell you all kinds of weird things. In the end, they all do the same thing. Crack your back. They call it an “adjustment “. Either way, it works for me. After a couple weeks of getting adjustments I feel great.

IDK Op you tell me.
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

Alright, so I went to an orthopedic surgeon, and I'll write down what he told me vs what the chiropractor told me.
Chiro:
Said my spine was out of alignment.
Said the misalignment was due to muscle imbalances, and muscles being tight.
Said he could see the start of disk degeneration. Said this was probably caused by the two above issues.
Said I needed at least 3 months of physical therapy, massage therapy, and manipulation. One month would have to be out of pocket since my insurance only covers two months.
Said that if I let this go on, down the line the only way to fix it would be surgery.
Ortho:
Said my spine was out of alignment.
Said the misalignment was due to muscle imbalances, and muscles being tight.
Said he could see the start of disk degeneration. Said that this was probably genetic.
Said he could offer 2 months of physical therapy, and then reassess, which was the most the insurance would cover. He also said I would benefit from massage therapy, though his practice didn't offer it, and lastly he said the manipulation would probably not do anything since the issue was muscular.
Said that at this time no surgery was needed.
I still don't know which way to go, though I'm leaning towards the chiro as his assessment was not far from the ortho's assessment, and since the chiro offers more services, ie the massage therapy. Cost would be about the same either way.

Hi, I have suffered from neck and knee pain, and I am a sportsperson, so I have to be more careful about my joint pain. I have heard from one of my friends about the Pain Free Physiotherapy & Chiropractic Clinic. So I visited there, and after my treatment, I feel very fresh, and now I am ok and leaving my usual life as before the pain.
