IME the closest you could get would be to split the year between MI and the mild winter state of your choice. Maybe FL for lower taxes. Or TX.

If you could choose a no income tax state as your home residence then you should be clear on MI income tax.

MI is very mild and nice from sometime in June through fall until after Christmas. You may get a taste of winter and snow anytime starting around Halloween, but it usually doesn't set in hard to stay until after the holidays. The west coast of MI is about as nice and mild as summer can be.

I live in Raleigh. Depends on the type of heat you want to avoid. Humidity isnโ€™t too bad and we can get snow, but itโ€™s not a lot. Maybe southern VA?

San Diego

specifically, coastal san diego from Oceanside to Pacific Beach

Winters are mild with the lowest temps hitting like 38-42 degrees, and that's really only in the dead of night. daytime is rarely ever colder than 50. random rain here and there, maybe a few consistent weeks during the winter. Summers are mild to start and usually a bit overcast, then it starts to warm up from Mid-July all the way through early October when it starts cooling down again.

if you can afford it and can avoid the politics or at least surround yourself with like-minded people, its great. COL is really the biggest drawback.

idk how to reply/quuotewith the broken forums. just saw you want seasons...San Diego doesn't have much in the way of that but you can drive 2-3 hours to the snow in winter, 3-4 hours for the forest, 1-2 hours for the desert, and the ocean is right next door.
