Depends on the area. Around here is terrible, many homeless around here will steal or commit other petty crimes just to get locked up in the winter for somewhere to sleep and food.

ITT: OP makes up more BS to go along with his MISC persona. Though this is a departure from his normal nonsense of "Everyone chits on me because i am everyone's scape goat."
OP negged me (a week or so ago) like...2 weeks after i commented in one of his threads. I called him a beta or something and his neg comment was "Not too Beta to neg you"

This is definitely worthy of a GoPro. It could end up being a famous story.
Like footage of me spear hunting rats or fighting off rabid homeless people with a stick.

i live in S FL.. i constantly see homeless standing on intersections holding up signs.. i've seen them get cash given to them as well..
most of the guys do not look like they're under weight at all..
They probably get like 50 bucks or more standing there for a whole day

There is a show called naked and afraid where you are in the wild for 21 days trying to survive but are able to tap out if things get to tough. I compare that to your situation. Albeit it’s a wonderful idea truly, the fact of the matter is you have a home and family and if it gets a bit hairy that safety net will be in the back of your mind. It completely changes the mentality and experience.
I still say do it. Just don’t think when you are done you truly have the experience of a homeless person whose got nothing. You will gain a wealth of knowledge though.
But it’s only when you are truly trapped in the wild without that safety net of tapping out will one truly understand having to survive or die.
Again go for it. Just don’t come out of it thinking you experienced it 100% and that’s ok I’m not hating on it, sincerely.
I’d love to hear a 30 day, daily journal of your experience. Good luck.
Cheers

All of them have two crutches and that extremely palsied/MS/about to fall over/shuddering all over gait. It’s actually hilarious to see who can act the most spasticated I want to line them up and give the winner £50..
*yes I know there is a minuscule chance that one maybe has a serious neuromuscular condition but I’ve seen it too many times. Including a chap walk into McDonald’s completely normally who 10 minutes earlier had been giving it the full Stephen Hawking.

Was homeless a few times from 16-20 before I got married. It's a good experience, be weary of other homeless people, boredom and hopelessness are real and you might try to converse with other homeless I advise against it or just keep it superficial. Don't try to combat the boredom with drugs or alcohol. You only need two weeks to get the experience. Good luck.
Edit: don't panhandle go to soup kitchen and be thrifty with that $30 and youll eat fine. Hate panhandlers, if you need money day labor.

They will tell that you stick out and something is up. even if they believe your story that you are really homeless you will seem to be "fresh meat", its just like jail they can tell who is new, who has nice teeth and hair ect, they will try to take advantage.
also they fight over who has the best panhandling intersections.

To further elaborate on why it is a bad time to be homeless, OP in many cities, there are ongoing riots and there is a movement to defund police. Fewer police means more unchecked crime. Crime is especially worst against homeless because homeless are unlikely to report a crime or be taken seriously when they report. Furthermore, there is currently a global pandemic. Access to healthcare is jeopardized and you are more likely to be injured or take ill when homeless. Lastly, the current economy is very volatile. Assets are more valuable than cash to hold right now. There is also a difficulty leaving homelessness once you enter. Many things require a permanent address, for example. Many employers will not hire you if you are homeless. It is not a rosy life and it has been made worse by current circumstances. I strongly advise you to instead try living frugally if you want to rough it out. Maybe do an experiment in setting a strict budget for yourself.

Often times they are very cramped, dirty, theft, fights and a curfew are pretty standard. Some even won't waive the curfew for employment.
