I am more of a centrist than left leaning, so I don't even have a bias here. In fact, I hated my experience at Berkeley.

You have BLM openly advocating against the nuclear family on their website, so of course their kind arent going to say well if the student had two parents that took enough interest in it and drove their child to the library so they could get free SAT study guides maybe they would do better.

I don't know about the low income part. I came from a humble family and for SAT practice, I used to go to the local library, take one of the old SAT textbooks with practice exams and study from it. It didn't cost me a dime. You just need the will and determination to study. Today, kids can easily access so many resources online for practice. There's really no excuse to be honest.

At this point, colleges like UC are just adult daycare.
They're farming the education loan system for profit. I know they're a public school, but someone is getting paid.
Poor people are at best ignorant by their description, and will take out ridiculous loans to go to school.

I got an 800 on the math SAT the first time taking it and I had stayed up until 2 am the night before smoking pot drinking beer and actually smoking opium for the first time ever. I remember walking into the building thinking damn I still feel quite buzzed. Then I signed up to take the physics I and ii sat 2s cus in ap physics I would mostly just read books then ace the tests I checked in for the sat down they passed out the test I skimmed through it was like yeah Iโve never seen any of this **** before taking this will only hurt so I got up left and had a fun weekend of probably drinking adventuring and chasing slots

Explain to me how a ****ing judge gets to make this decision...you can argue the merits of the SAT/ACT for college admissions all you want, but a JUDGE deciding this? Californians, you no longer have any rights.

In a legal context, it makes no fukking sense.

So these leftists think that since higher income families do well on these tests, it proves that it's unfair to gauge competence with them.
When in reality, people who are smart make more money (overall), and pass on their genetics to their children. Who then do well on said SAT/IQ test (which is basically what standardized tests are).
They will never be able to admit that though.

The test is only $65, hell it was over 100 back in the day. I think a 17-18 year old could get a part time job and afford $65 if it was important to them. Most of these "poor" kids have shoes that cost more.
you gotta look at things the way courts have to, in that context it makes perfect sense why it was seen as disadvantage for poorer students

I was flaky in school (didn't take it super seriously), paid close enough attention to understand most/all concepts, employed no additional resources outside of school to prepare for my SAT, and yet still did very well. I'm 100% certain that any kid that even tries remotely hard will have success. The problem with this terrible study (very limited info) is that they fail to identify that there may be a causation between low income and lack of dedication to education.
I could agree that higher income may provide more opportunity to 3rd party assistance, but there are a ton of education resources out there for free/cheap.

Im with the cuckservatives on this one. Doesn't make sense to me how you can admit someone over another when their ACT score is clearly lower, regardless of income level.
Im also not sure why ACT scores are used to determine ones level of eligibility for admission.
All that said, America must fall.

As we know getting an A at one school might not as hard as getting a B- at another school depending on demographics and such at that school.
