Can confirm. Just make sure you learn a real skilled trade. I love waking up every morning and going to work because I actually find it fun srs.

Electrical is mentally stimulating and I’m learning a lot, even if it’s just residential atm.

I learned a little bit at my last commercial job too but truthfully I was mostly just cutting pipe and helping my journeyman on the boom and trenching the utility lines for the transformers.

I’m all for the union but the electricians union might not be the best option depending on where you live.

Not every local is Strong like Seattle , Portland , San Fran , New York , etc.

For the more structural trades like carpentry, sheet metal, iron workers , etc it’s really the only way to go.

Up there in clown world ( ibew 46) sparkies make 25 to start and take home 58 on the check as jmen, one of the best benefit rates in the US , and a nice parking allowance.

The western part of WA state is Easily one of the best places to be an electrician or any union tradie. I see non union ads for journeymen only 2 dollars or so under the union rate all the time. Same for apprentices. No state income tax either. Gorgeous area and you could even buy a house too if you just want a nice starter home/ bachelor pad.

Cons - in the trenches of clown world. Don’t Know how tradies up there put up with the all the communists and antifa soyboys.

How many plumbers, mechanics and electricians have you personally serviced while they were out on a house call?

What tradies start at 9am ? More like 6:30am to 2:30pm. Lol imagine being a tradie and working 40hr weeks and also doing cash in hand jobs getting an extra $500 for a 3hr job

Tempted to chuck everything in and become a carpenter.

Brb building houses shirtless in the sunshine while cubicels wives mire the gains
A young bull and an old bull were standing atop a hill looking at a bunch of heifers in a field below.

The young bull says "Let's run down this hill and fuk one of those heifers."

The old bull replies "No. Let's walk down there, and fuk them all."

**** pay and you’ll always be undercut by illegals and will be first to get laid off during slow times. Sparky master race checking in.

Brb recession proof, I can find work even as an apprentice rn

Brb great pay , places in the north like WA both pay almost the same union or non union , there really is no losing in the north as an electrician, you make 6 figures either way

Brb side work

Brb won’t get undercut by cheap labor or illegals unless you’re low voltage/ residential

Commercial and industrial contractors don’t cheap out on labor for generators , stadiums , utilities , switch gears , factories etc

That’s much higher voltage stuff than residential , it can kill you , you don’t **** around with that

Brb strong sense of pride in your work , almost every journeyman I’ve worked with so far are perfectionists , they don’t just slap **** together and take their time to do it right

Especially the guys who worked at that EV company I first started with

Brb gods of the jobsite , we literally ride the lightning bitch

Brb sloots pupils dilate and panties get wet when you tell them you’re a commercial/industrial/high voltage sparky

“Isn’t that dangerous , you can get shocked pretty badly”

“ we like to live dangerously”

See video
