That's not what he was paid for roles. That's total net earnings after the movie/franchise was successful + merchandising + digital sales etc etc etc

No one has ever been paid anywhere near $87 million for a movie role let alone averaged it over 4 years

Dumb & Dumber has so many small quirks that you miss the first time around. It took me several watches to pick up on a lot of the comedic genius and realize that it was the GOAT comedy.

Wasn't the dude like a real life cartoon character in the 90's? He always seemed to carry his movie/comedy character with him wherever he went. Other than that and the fact he made a few cool movies i just see him as another comedian like Adam Sandler.

I know that it's tough, but I try to separate the human beings from the persona. For example, there are a lot of musicians that I don't particular agree with, but I am not going to deprive myself of their artistic greatness. It's a shame about someone like LeBron, serious. I used to think that he could be the GOAT over Jordan, but his political crap has really turned me off.

Speaking of Sandler, Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore are still 2 of the greatest comedies. I still haven't determined which one is the better of the two.

Low budget Robin Williams. Always tried to do the Williams routine where you would just turn him loose and he would spew an endless stream of humor (The DJ stuff in Good Morning Vietnam was supposedly completely unscripted) but could never pull it off.

Scenario A: Actor takes 20m for a role in a movie, movie makes 1b, actor makes 20m total.
Scenario B: Actor takes 5m for role but knows movie will do good so he adds 10% box office proceeds, movie makes 1b, actor makes 105m.

Its probably better for every actor who thinks they are good at their craft to do deals based on the movie’s sales.

This is what Jim made from his movies

Yes Man – $32 million
Bruce Almighty – $25 million
How the Grinch Stole Christmas – $20 million
Me, Myself & Irene – $20 million
Liar Liar – $20 million
The Cable Guy – $20 million
Dumb and Dumber To – $15 million

A Series of Unfortunate Events – $15 million
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls – $15 million

For anyone that has seen Dumb & Dumber To, Bob Saget has a really funny scene in the bathroom. Saget is a really underrated comedian; surprisingly, very raunchy, unlike on Full House, lol.
