Lol, this is absolutely false. I don't see California going Republican, but Texas isn't turning blue anytime soon and Pennsylvania is a Center-Right state that is very ideologically different from the direction Democrats are currently going in. The only chance Dems had at getting Texas to vote for a Dem was if they could put a fake hispanic name on Francis O' Rourke and try to trick hispanics into believing he was Mexican, but it turned out he was a below average politician and couldn't compete outside of Texas.

Big cities are always this way.

Some of you just be new to basic geographic tendencies for liberals and conservatives

Texas isn’t turning blue. You idiots only think that because you base the entire state on Austin, Houston, and Dallas

The reality is big cities have always been there and some of you are too damn dumb to realize there’s more to the state than these major cities.

And here's why Joe Rogan is a phucking idiot: By convincing them to move to Texas, those same people will turn Texas into the chithole that Commiefornia is by voting for those same policies all over again. The correct answer is to STAY and RETAKE your state and vote accordingly policy-wise/law-wise. If push comes to shove there's always the militia method.

But aren't Big cities often the determining factor in whether a state is blue? Illinois is blue because of Chicago. Cali is blue because of LA.

Not wrong about this. And whoever does our road planning seems to be truly mentally deficient. Like why for all that is holy did they redo 35N and not add more lanes? I believe that with the space they used for their mostly single lane toll road and the on/off ramps for it we could have just had 4 lanes on each side which might have actually relieved some of the congestion.

Don't forget San Antonio. And TX with relatively flat terrain and multiple high population cities makes sense for this. Might be worth having a spike up through OKC/Tulsa/St.Louis/Chicago.

The large cities were already trending blue, but I believe that only Austin would fit under the Progressive label. At least Austin is the only city I've read about pushing some hinky stuff into public schools and talking about defunding the police.

Fort Worth and maybe San Antonio, are more conservative.

Can we just for the thread's sake see some evidence of Rogan "influencing" Californians to migrate to the great republican utopia that is Texas? Lets see some evidence. I mean entire premise of this thread lies on op's assertion that Rogan is somehow influencing masses of people to migrate to Texas. fkn lmao, get a ****ing grip.

do you listen to Rogan? For months he has been talking about the homeless problem getting worse in CA. About ineffective leader ship. Gov overreach with covid. How texas is taking a milder approach because they are trying to balance their economy. Seems like you are asking for physical evidence (which there is none) becaus eyou desperately want Op to be wrong

Widening roads doesn't work.
The number of road users goes up so the congestion remains the same.
That's what the studies state anyway.

Aware.

However there has to be some utility to increasing lane miles (?) when you have a massive increase in population.

AFAIK 35N from Fort Worth up into OK was two lanes on each side in 1970 (or since whenever it was built) when the metro area population was about 2 million. The current DFW population is estimated to be about 7 million.

It isn't a case of a static population showing preference in usage for a given roadway due to increased road capacity. I don't think trying double the road capacity when the population has more than tripled is an unreasonable expectation.

ETA: OKC has gone from a half million to a million (roughly) as well.

Also, as to why Californians are polluting Texas, the Mountain West, etc.... swallow the California pill. This is a cookie-cutter suburb in San Jose.

We need to 1. ban foreign investment in real estate (1 in 5 homebuyers in CA are Chinese nationals), 2. get CA off their NIMBY chit and have them build high-density housing so WE don't have to destroy our homes because they don't want to change theirs, or the one I'm most in favor of, 3. execute a large portion of the Californian population. You're not moving to Dallas-Fort Worth if you're not breathing, nomsayin.

I might not have this exactly right, but to me in this context:

traditional liberal:

- believes in equal opportunity
- supports environmental conservation
- wants fair wages/less financial inequality
- respects other groups right to coexist; pro-free speech
- recognize human rights
- old school feminism (equal pay for equal work/equal rights under the law/right to vote)
- looks to the sciences for truth

progressive:

- believes in equal outcomes
- strong arm activism (bullying, cancelling)
- postomodernism/intersectionalism- all viewpoints are equally valid, no universal truth, identity politics
- strongly allied with groups/movements claiming to champion victims (extreme fringe #metoo, BLM, black reparations, some LGBT movements)
- anti-free speech
- anti-science
- advocate "open borders"; aka globalism

Generally what I am labeling as progressives feel like angry bullies that operate from feelings and misplaced idealism while rejecting anyone that doesn't endorse their position or who questions its validity. They may have started from a place of good intentions, but they got lost somewhere along the way. Also seems likely there is an element of outside manipulation taking place.
