You beat me to the apex seal joke. I wish Mazda had stuck with the rotary. They would have eventually figured out the apex seal and made them reliable without having to run super rich. It's such an interesting design but just not practical when compared to a piston engine. The gas mileage of a v8, the torque of 4 cyl and the HP of a v6. They do have a huge advantage in physical space over piston engines and they love to rev

Lol fair enough. Also, if anyone has an old 2 stroke jetski, and you hear it start to runaway on you, it is the most counter intuitive thing ever, but go WFO on the throttle.

Seriously, 9 times out of ten you have an air leak somewhere, it went lean on you, and is now dieseling on the super hot spark plugs. If you hit the kill switch/stop button nothing will happen, but if you go WFO you cure the lean condition and if you are holding stop button you kill spark, it will turn off in a second or two as the plugs cool down.

They’re absolutely essential for anybody who does any heavy pulling. Fuel mileage pulling 20k with either of my Cummins HD pickups is 12-14 meanwhile the mileage pulling the same load with my 6.2 liter gas engine in my F-350 is around 5 mpg and drastically shortens the life of the gas motor because it’s working so hard.
