Which implies you suggested benching 7 days a week is better than benching 5 days a week. Which is better than benching 3 days, which is better than once a week.

Start off with sprints, not cardio.

Beep test is sprint endurance.

100m x 8 with 60s recovery in between. Either walk or jog it.

You have to find a footstrike that is comfortable for you. Footwear is also important to look into. And something most beginners overlook is breathing. It’s important to find a breathing rhythm if you want to improve your endurance.

Had a job where I walked all day where I would average 20,000 steps (10 miles). LOL hard if you think walking does anything for your cardio. I failed my PT test (first time ever) and decided to take it serious with training.

Now I run a min of a mile every day. Nothing beats sprinting. What I like to do is start with like a 7mph on the treadmill and crank it up .2 mph every .10 of a mile.

It took me roughly like three months to get a sub 6 minute mile. I'm in my 30s btw.

Imo this is the wrong approach

When you are as deconditioned as op high intensity work is not as effective. Need to build a gas tank before you can fine tune the engine, there's no replacing LISS if you want to be very fit.

Brahs don't laugh but I've been a fat fuk for a while and neglected cardio for years. I'd do lots of walking but I recently realized walking ain't CHIT.

Remember I'm a fatazz, so as I recently started trying to run, I realized I was fukked. Carrying this weight around was bad for running. I've been having shin splints since I started (about 3 weeks now). I just let it heal for a bit and try again when I feel it's okay enough. My runner friend said my body just needs to get used to it.

So I started off with sprints. Sprint from A to B, walk back to A, repeat. Then, at the end of a sprint session I tried to see how long I could continuously run for at my highest speed and made like a min before I had to stop. Just LMFAOalso the shin splints at that time were killing me.

I want to get back on it and keep trying to increase endurance but the damn shin splints mane.

The only positive part about this whole thing is I've been legit dropping weight at the fastest I've ever seen. It's incredible. I want to continue this. Can someone recommend me some decent affordable shoes? I might buy a couple pairs.

I've been walking for the past 3 months and lost 35lbs. What are you talking about? (SRS).

When I said walking ain't chit, I meant for cardiovascular endurance. Because I've been walking pretty okay with no problems. I could walk all day. But running is a totally different thing and my first time I gassed out super quickly.

For weight loss walking was okay for me but just nothing special. But after quarantine I really fixed my diet while trying to run and the weight just strips off. Imagine if I could actually run instead of doing poverty sprints.

Shin splints? I get them from running. The only thing that stopped them was getting Brooks running shoes and being fitted correctly at a store for them. Also lots of stretching that hits your shins.

Cardio sucks fukking azz dude but eventually you just get used to it and it becomes second nature. I remember when I first started to incorporate cardio in my routine after a while and it was like I was winded after a quarter mile. Now I end all of my workouts with a 1.5-2 mile jog at an 7:30 pace

I do 3.5 hours on my mountain bike regularly, and STILL feel like my cardio is chit-tier if I don't fuel/sleep/live perfectly.

This right here is your ticket. Get a gait analysis done at a professional running gear store and have them fit you for the best shoes for you. It made a world of difference in finally shaking shin splints for me.

Get the latest Nike Pegasus. I think it's the Pegasus 37. You can get them on sale for $80-$100. MSRP is $120. Go up 1/2 a size than normal. Best to try them on in the store first if possible. They've been around for 37+ years for a reason. So awesome. I've been using them for years. Also, change them out with a new pair after 500-1,000 miles max if possible.

Really appreciated brah. It's something I've been excited about.... Like a new area to conquer. I've been lifting for so long but this is the shake-up I've needed. Reps.
