I've seen people have a good mount of success on Keto. I find it works better for people who aren't training with serious intensity in the gym. I've done keto and my workouts fell extremely flat after about 5-7 weeks on Keto. Keto is not optimal for performance. \
It is pretty solid for a person who exercises casually and is trying to lose weight. That being said, the failures I've see typically always fall in one of the following categories
1.) Those who think its a pass to add heavy cream, bacon and butter to every meal. No calorie counting
2.) Those who never actual enter ketosis because they are unaware of how many carbs they are consuming a day. Going under 30g of net carbs does need counting/tracking. It's real easy to exceed that.
3.) Those who come off Keto, and don't reverse diet properly.

Hey OP I did keto briefly with great success. Trying to get back into it. What you describe in the OP are symptoms of keto flu.
Here’s some tips. My energy levels were higher than ever and I felt fukcing great with way less inflammation and sleep was no problem. My circadian rhythm was fukcing awesome too but that may have been due to quitting fluoride. I also had almost no sugar cravings and was disgusted seeing all these normies at a Wendy’s or McDonald’s drive thru. It sounds patronizing but it’s a reflection of how amazing I felt.
Organic 100% grass fed beef from local farmer (it’s cheaper and tastes great)
NO grains
Avocado or two a day
Lemon juice every day to prevent oxalates.
Beef organs once a week
Bone broth a few times a week if not everyday.
Suppys: non synthetic vitamin b (nutritional yeast is a good source), vitamin d+k2, electrolyte powder with potassium (I recommend dr bergs tastes great and has the right stuff), wheatgrass juice powder (once again recommending berg on taste and quality), sodium (can mix pink salt with water).
Every morning you can mix the wheatgrass electrolytes and lemon in some water and drink it first thing in the morning. Oh fukcing tastes great btw srs. Maybe do a high intensity sprint after. It won’t break your fast
On that note eat during an 8 hour window at most and fast for at least 16 hours.
It sounds like a lot but it’s not. You don’t have to do the bone broth and organ meats to start off and you still feel great. I actually started feeling pissed off at my parents for not introducing me to this stuff as a child and as a teenager. When ur a teenager even standing in the sun feels better than later in life. It’s a different energy. Imagine how much more it could have been fukk. You’ll feel so good you’ll never want to eat standard garbage again. All joint pain and cracking disappeared too.
Oh also if you’re doing keto vitamins and minerals become of utmost importance more so than when you are carb heavy. That’s why it’s important to get your trace minerals in and drink and eat nutritious stuff. Stop drinking your dead synthetically fluoridated chlorinated recycled toilet water completely deprived of any and all essential nutrients and start consuming spring water from the earth to help get your trace minerals.
Go on findaspring.com and find a spring in your area. You may be pleasantly surprised at how close you can find a spring. Just test the water first for E. coli and coliforms of bacteria. If you hit 0s on those the water is good and exactly what you should be putting in your body.

Did keto from sept 6 2019 - Mid march 2020 (when my state shut down) then from Mid May - Aug. Lost 50 lbs but I also added LBM to my arms and legs (even the leg with nerve damage).
My advice is to:
- vary your meals as much as possible. if you dont, you wont ever get excited about eating and you really do need that because it plays a role in satiety.
-Drink Raw Apple Cider Vinegar before each meal. It will help pull sugar from your blood and help you feel full longer
-Use stevia rather than erythritol. Sugar alcohols will knock you out of ketosis if you take in enough
-Cinnamom. Helps regulate insuin
-Make sure you are getting enough potassium. Cant regulate insulin without potassium. You need 4700 mg per day (10 cups of leafy greens) and potassium supps are only 99mg
-Make SURE you are eating the right ratio of Fats to proteins. I was an absolute idiot and ate mostly protein while doing low carb and low fat. ItKILLEDall my hunger. I struggled to eat 2 chicken breasts and osme veggies every day. Also eggs. I got off keto not too long ago to try and restore some balance so when i do get back on, i wont have to deal with feeling terrible when it's time ot eat again
-Water Water Water
-Cold Therapy (i forget what its called). Since you are a limey, you'll have easy access to cool weather. The aim here is to convert some of your white fat to brown fat. Brown fat is metabolically active where as white fat (adipose tissue) is not. Brown fat is stored around your organs (visceral fat) and it is what activates to keep you warm and you burn more kcals. So start taking cold showers and spending 30 minutes a day in a cold room or outside when its cool
-Sauna therapy. If you have access to a sauna, use it before you train. It has TONS of benefits like dilating your blood vessels so more oxygen gets delivered to the muscles, Growth Hormone gets released, boosts immune system, helps improve sleep, helps make you more alert, activates satellite cell production (satellite cells are the main mechanism that helps you recover from DOMS), supresses hunger and even helps produce TPP (clot busting agent so its good therapy for heart attack and stroke patients). Just try not to drink while in the sauna or right after. Try to cool down naturally so you dont stop all the hormone production you just stimulated
-Try doing fasted cardio. You will burn more calories because you are in a fasted state. This doesnt equate toburning more fatthough. If you can train fasted, then give that a try too
-Train first thing in the AM if you can. Get the heart up and going early. Helps the circadian rhythm and promotes a healthy endocrine system
-Drink a full glass of water upon waking. Stimulates the brain and works even better if you can add some natural peppermint oil to it
-Weigh your food, get a TDEE every week so you can be making adjustments weekly
Edit: I'm not a huge fan of chocolate so I make this for dessert instead:
Blueberry mug cake (you'll have to convert)
3 tablespoons almond flour
1 egg
1 tablespoon stevia
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Tiny bit of vanilla extract
lemon or orange zest. (I use lemon juice if i dont have either of those)
Cinnamon (two or three spanks works for me)
Blueberries (i cant remember how many blueberries you are supposed to add but its someting like 20g. You'll probably need to keep track of what you've had throughout the day to know how many/much to put in to keep you in ketosis)
White kidney Bean Extract inhibits carbohydrate absorption. Green Tea extract + caffeine will help you burn a few extra kcals. You can also look into methysynephrine (its the primary ingredient in bitter orange and the safe alternative to ephedrine). I believe it works well with teacrine too
Edit 2:
-Vary your cardio and dont just run. Running is a great way to burn kcals but it also raises your cortisol and cortisol will knock you the eff out of ketosis even if you have eaten zero carbs. Walking lowers cortisol but you need to walk on an incline to get a good kcal burn. HIIT is an EXCELLENT kcal burner. You are going HARD, but not so long that you do joint damage or raise your cortisol (or other hormones that will slow down your progress)
