I still think ps has better exclusive developers that they have nurtured the past several decades. Plus buying insomniac was smart (I love their games). But I'm genuinely excited for the future of xbox. And they had 3 critical successes this year already at the top of my head (and they aren't even halo, gears or forza!). They have a few really talented studios at this point, plus they are giving them creative freedom to do what they want. Game pass is seriously great, especially with game prices going up to $70. I already have a big backlog on there.
I have definitely been talking more positively about xbox lately, but I think a reality where MS, Sony, and Nintendo are all doing well and being competitive is only good for gamers. And MS has made some really good strides. A 180 since the disastrous xbox one launch.

I guess Gamepass will work best for younger people who have alot more time for gaming and don't mind exploring a bunch of different older or mediocre titles.
I'm interested in the new generation of games that will push the hardware. For that the PS5 by far is the best bet. Look at last Gen....The Xbox had better specs than PS4 yet PS4 games just looked and played so much better because these amazing experiences were designed gound-up specially for the system. There will be no games designed to squeeze all the power out of the Series X. It's just a piece of hardware with no soul.

There are some real gems on game pass. And more coming as MS's first party heats up. Do you really think Obsidian, Playground Games, Ninja Theory are not good developers? They have 23 studios now. The Initiative was built some top tier industry talent as well (including senior staff from God of War), and should be a flagship studio. I think the first party output from Microsoft will greatly improve this gen. The seeds are being planted.
But last gen ps4 was a good amount stronger than xbox one (unless you mean the mid gen refreshes?). What do you mean about the Series X having "no soul"? Hardware is hardware and the ps5 and series x are really similar (besides the faster ssd on ps5, bit stronger gpu on xbox). And I certainly think the developers will take full advantage of it. They already had some lookers this gen (Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5).
To me, this is an impressive mix of developers. They only had like 3 or 4 at the beginning of the xbox one launch.

It's amazing the incorrect things so many PCcels say about consoles on this forum. Like they just have no clue. I have said this before: I fully admit there are advantages to PC gaming. But PC gamers seem to have a complex in regards to people who play on consoles, it's bizzare. Exclusives, convenience, not caring about upgrading every couple years, not spending more money are all valid reasons to game on consoles. The day and age of "ports" has been long past. I'll give you PC has more efficient ray tracing, but mainly on high end cards. The vast majority of PC gamers are not using high end cards.
In regards to games, many console first party exclusives are some of the best received games of the year.
