Yeah man I'm from the south. Down here you can actually get away with the look of the guy in the pic minus bowtie. Tons of fratboy types wear that stuff. Things you absolutely cannot get away with are feminine looking shoes, v neck shirts, overly tight jeans (unless you are a real cowboy wearing wranglers) and jewelry. You can get away with the "Cape Cod trust fund child" look but not the "west coast fashionable" look

You're right. I completely forgot about that. One of the kids in college that works for my company during the summer and holidays explained this to me. He even showed me this trend that was huge in Texas where kids would wear shirts with whales on them, short shorts, and sperrys. Mind was blown. Makes sense though. And yes the west coast fashionable around here isn't...fashionable either.
