People IRL really celebrate for more than one day?
I mean, if you have vacation time I can see something like a weekend birthday trip or something.

As for celebrating birthdays, I think it's a good thing. I take the day off for my sons bday every year and we do something special like bowling/movie/mini golf and go out to lunch and/or dinner. Always have cake or at the very least a cupcake for him to blow out candles.

Honestly I don't really give a chit about birthdays, just having a nice meal and blowing out some candles is enough for me. Most women seem like they need to turn it into an award show for themselves where they get as many people as they can together to make as big of a deal about it as possible.

My last girlfriend would always turn her birthday into 2-3 days, seriously. As someone who never celebrated his own birthday it was disgusting to be a part of. "My real birthday I am going to spend with you, then we can do my birthday night out with friends the next, and then Sunday at my families house we are doing my birthday there. Are you phucking kidding me? Friday to Sunday I am on the hook for three of your birthdays????
WHAT?

This past birthday I had cake with my parents and got a text from my brother and a couple close friends. That's as much celebrating as I want to do.

once you get to a certain age your birthday is just any other day
I have friends that still act like children on their birthdays, absolutely disgusting behavior, I tell them I don't give a chit every year

Just another day for me. If anything my family would want to have a bbq and invite people over. I was cool with it but wouldve been fine with just having the day to myself and play video games. Have a steak for dinner and that would've made me happy. I know some women who have the "celebrate the whole weekend as my bday even though its not till saturday/sunday".
