I lived in the Palm Springs area in the early 2000's. You're not allowed to go to any store or restaurant without also being nagged and guilt tripped by homeless people to give them something. They have Homeless privilege.

Living in southern CA and working in the LA/OC area, I can't say I disagree with any of the points he made.

Outside of the weather, it's getting worse every year. I'd hedge my bets I'll be out before 3 years is up.

Police have been ordered to back off of crime; the catch and release issue; local law enforcement being incentivized to lie about crime rates (LA Times article on LAPD misclassified nearly 1200 violent crimes as minor offenses) - then saying "we lowered the crime rate". BLM riots burning the county to allow trashing of parts of LA. Friend of his building a house has the site serially robbed from piping etc.

4. Bad Policy Making: - already passed a bill to require diversity in corporate boardrooms. Some kids can't read, but are taught bias against religious institutions, and bias, and COVID policy utterly unhinged: (i) Disney world open in Florida; not Disneyland; (ii) restaurants opening (even here in NYC with limited capacity) but not in LA;

5. It's not getting better: politics becoming more skewed every day. It is aone party state. Republicans haven't had a majority in state assembly since 1996 - out migration has jumped 38%, that was rising for the 7th straight year. So well before COVID chit.

I'd identify as (R) in majority values, but like the video said, the State is dominated by hard leaning lefts.

Even when I vote this bullchit out, there are 3.27 million others in the state alone that dominate the votes. Many of which enjoy being unemployed and/or carry illegal status. News radio the other day was a 1 hour piece about how cruel and hurt their multi generational illegal immigrant families feel at Trumps action with the border wall.

Multi - generation. No possible way or attempt to apply for citizenship and pay those taxes to upkeep the state, and still complaining about how their feelings are hurt.

Don't know why people always feel the need to repeat this lol. The people that are leaving don't support what is going on or vote for it. They are far outnumbered, like jeshelton pointed out, by people who aren't going anywhere. A lot of people come here for a few years and head home or somewhere more sensible when they're tired of the BS. It's a revolving door of short-term transplants. The people that want out in a hurry (most of) aren't the ones you need to worry about.

Yeah, being 2 blocks from the water and just outside of downtown, I'm right in the heart of a big tweaker population. Earlier this year one broke into our office and was found sleeping in the bathroom. Walk to the beach, they are everywhere. Last weekend, in the same day, saw not one, but two with swords hanging out of their backpacks just strolling down the beach. Gyms let them in to shower and they just hang out there. Seems that no matter where I go, they are everywhere. It's a different show every day.

I could move further north and a bit outside of the city like Bartosh mentioned, but I like being near the city. If I'm not going to be close to everything, I might as well just pack up and go save a sht ton of money elsewhere.

Thats all real af. Me and my gf gtfo of the city a few months ago, moved to Solana Beach (how typical haha). When I moved here in 2014 every native told me I would love the young beach parts at first (PB etc), but it would wear thin and Id move to north county after getting tired of it lmao soo true. Recently got tired of homeless and junkies everywhere, hot cramped apartment and dbags in North Park (had moved in with my gf).

We are soooo over CA taxes, regulations, rules and cost of living man. Just got back from west Michigan and holleee fuk do you forget just how affordable the rest of America is. Beautiful area too

Thats the truth, I excused away all of the above for the weather but fuk that now- the negatives FAR outweigh the positives here. Shame because the state is just fuking beautiful

Can relate 100%, I just don't think I have it in me to even try further north. Went back to MD for the first time during the summer since I've been out here (usually just go back for xmas). I forgot how green and beautiful the area is during the summer. You leave the beach here, it's dirt.

A few weeks ago we had a naked man in the middle of the street rubbing dog food all over himself, like he was bathing in it, two patrols drove by and not one stopped. Doesn’t surprise me that they did t stop those with weapons. Problem is that now east and north county are becoming expensive as well, will be here another 4-5 years to build equity in my condo and then move. It sucks though, it is a beautiful city with tons to offer.

Lol bathing in dog food. I can't even say I'm surprised. One of the sword guys was middle of the day. Not sure why he wasn't stopped either. The other though was at like 1 am when I was on the beach with a girl. Walked right past us when the entire beach is open. Ruining one of the best parts about living at the beach. Trying to have a little fun, have to keep your head on a swivel for sword-wielding trolls.

Which beach? I’ll have to keep a look out for the tweaking Highlander. If I hear some belligerent yelling about “there can only be one!” I’ll know it’s time to go.
