With A GF who is director of a foster care agency, i asked her about this topic since people bring up AFAM fathers **once a week** in most forums here. So glad it is on the brains of most here, glad we have so many religious compassionate posters,lol.

Her answer was tell them that, bad fathers present are worse than no father in many cases.

cliffs: it isn't about just having a man in the home, it is about having a quality father(not one that engages in mental abuse/physical/ sexual/alcoholism/drugs/violence) and no... I am not saying that all AFAM do this.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

This. The BLM crowd get their activism and violent rhetoric from Malcom X. You won't hear a single peep about Marthin Luther King because he was advocating non-violence, dialogue and he preached love. Malcom X preached an eye for an eye and to segregate. Support black owned or supporting white owned business is by definition discrimination and segregation. There is nothing uplifting about that. We should be preaching societal support for all businesses, we should be okay with buying our tires from a black man and buying our groceries from a white man. Malcom X was against that idea.

I got a buddy who is a die hard BLM'er. Not once does he bring up MLK. MLK is dead to the BLM crowd. They get their inspiration from Malcom X and all the other host of Pan-Africanism ideologies such as the nation of islam and a few other extreme groups.

Quit idolizing Malcom X as if his message was actually positive. He was a Piece of Chit who's ideas still to this day haunt us. If it wasn't for MLK we would have had thousands of casualties because of his violent rhetoric. Thank God MLK's message got through but sadly his message has faded away and the evil rhetoric of Malcom X has won.

Denzel described his father as gentle and a good example. Presumably that is part of what everyone is agreeing with.
