Avoid nightshift at all costs. It’s soul sucking

i hate these feels. not to mention everything except one mcd's is closed late at night.

when i was deeeep in the FA incelmode from 19-22, i liked the night. and became a night owl. once i crawled out of it, the dark quiet at night began to creep me out. it feels so weird walking or driving late at night.

A bit more context - I was 18 when I started a 2 year night shift. At the time, it was all fun and games. 11pm-7am shift, get home at 7:15, go to bed around 7:30, wake up at noon. Slept 4-5 hours a day for 2 years. I really liked the fact that when I got up at noon, I had the entire day to do whatever I wanted. Back then, I wasn't going to school, so I spent my days playing music, playing video games, etc. But now, fuk that. I think I'd die srs. My sleep schedule is so regulated. 10-6 like clockwork. I can't even stay up anymore on weekends.

To make a long story short, it's a young man's game, OP. Tread carefully.

At that compensation level, I'd take it.

You may have limited social life while you have that schedule though. Minimize your spending and sock a lot of that money away. Just be aware of the health impacts and work on minimizing them. After a couple years you should be able to find something else or have enough money put away to not have to worry for quite a while.

You will miss out. Can still enjoy the odd weekend.

With the state of the world today, I'd prefer it. You only associate with misfits, which includes every normal person today.

If it boosts your career, and you'd work long hours anyway, no problem. If you're missing long days in the sunshine for no future benefit, no.

Take the job for a year or two but have an exit plan.
