Beaches are the worst. Some places you could go in the water but not stay on the sand. Other places you couldnt swim in the water but could lay out on the sand. Both had some kind of mental gymnastics reasoning from executive branches of the government (not from muh science) explaining how they were saving lives with their policies.

connecticuit and hawaii had public parks and trails closed down at various points to allegedly save lives.

its fuking stupid
hawaii just opened the trails and beaches with restrictions; can only be with immediate family and groups cant be no larger than 5 i believe. a lot better than when all beaches and trails were closed. bars are still shut down but its ok for restaurants to have their bars open. its still pretty strict here in hawaii. they just opened up more flights for tourist to come into the islands but all people travelling must pass a covid test when arriving. if test is positive for covid, then you have to quarantine for 2 weeks. previously, anyone flying in was mandatory 2 week quarantine.

the island of lanai was just issued a stay at home order. they have a population of 3000 and didnt have a single case until maybe a week ago when they allowed inter island travel with no testing/quarantining. i think they have 65 cases now.... not much but considering the limited resources the island has, they can reach the breaking point fast
