was told 600 mg of ibuprofen. never took that much. took an aleve the first 3 nights.

Yeah, some of them can have side effects that make them not even worth taking. There are some that have no effect on me, but one that works wonders. This is absolutely something I would not hesitate to talk to my doc about. If the discomfort is so significant you feel compelled to talk about it with other people, it must be intense in your own mind.

I have had a lot of positive experience with ibuprofen, but the amounts that I was taking and the length of time I was taking it for is just unhealthy. I really did count on it sometimes though.

I broke 3 bones in my spine, and both my hip sockets in a car wreck. Luckily I didn't need surgery, just a wheelchair and bedrest for 3 months. Most miserable time of my life, everything hurt no matter which way you moved. Was stuck sleeping on my back for that whole time, couldn't roll over because of the hips. Had to piss in a bottle, take a shower in the sink. Couldn't even leave the apartment because I live on the 2nd floor and didn't wanna tumble down the stairs and die lol.

But anyway, I would welcome that cast/splint any day

Not trying to one-up your story like a douche
