In my opinion, if becoming a parent doesn't change you in the most profound way possible, you're doing it wrong. It may take time for it to actually set in that "wow, I made this human and they are part of me " that's ok but it should hit you
That human didn't ask to come into this world. They didn't sign up for this. And when they aggravate you, WHICH TRUST ME THEY WILL, you need to remember something...
If you treat that kid right, and love him unconditionally, treat them with the care you would want to be treated with if you were unable to speak or take care of yourself...
You will have a best friend for life. You'll have someone who thinks you hung the sun and moon in the sky. Be patient be loving and just be there. Most of the degenerates on this forum should never reproduce. But if you do and you give them the love and care they need, it will be the most rewarding thing you ever do in your life

the absolute thing I'd do first is get your kid on a schedule. most will say it's impossible, but it's not.
I had my daughter sleeping through the night in less than a month
trust me, it'll make your life a LOT easier

Broski, I was a dad at 20 years old. Let me tell you one thing. Your baby will drain you as a new born, with all the crying through the night.. to all the constant care he will need during the day. And weeks will seem like years, BUTTTTTT you will never love an individual as much as you will love your kid. From the moment you see his head squeeze out of your girls loose vagina. The first time he squeezes your finger with his hand. The first time he giggles. His first steps he will ever take. You will remember these times and by the time you realize it.. your baby aint gunna be a baby no more and your gunna wish he was back to being a baby. Cherish these days broski. My daughter is now 10, and she aint so little any more.... I wish i could go back to when she was a little baby and share more times with her.
Good luck!

Lotta good info here that pretty much covers it all.
First six months are hard, that was the learning curve for me. After that you fall into a groove and chit goes smooth for the most part. But always be prepped for suprises.
Funniest i remember was we where at the closing of our house. Just as we start signing the chit the little fugger overflowed his diaper with the most fowl smelling chit ive ever smelled (still to this day even). The real estate lady (typical single career woman karen type) was disgusted. Lol. The bathroom was too small to even bother changing him in there so the wife just threw down one of those changing pad things right there in the table and fixed him up. Lmaooooo it was vile as fuk.
Moral of story
Buy a chitload of those changing pad things. You can order them from medical supply places. Look under “incontinence pads”. Bring those everywhere srs. Literally can change a diaper anywhere and not worry about layin the boy down on some nasty ass bathroom “changing table”.
Also get one of those car seats / carrier that snap in and out if the base. Those are a necessity For the first couple years.
Also barf, lots and lots of barf. Dont freak out and think he is sick, they just pike a lot.
Babies - toddlers have a pretty high body temp normally so dont freak if your boy seems to have a small fever.

And, OP, if you are a manlet, please be honest with your son and tell him it’s over for him. And read to him my sig each and every night, so we don’t have another lying scumbag to add to the billions we already have.
Cheers

Don't be surprised if for the first 6 months you'll find it hard to be attached to your child. You might feel detached, frustrated, even angry at the change of routine and sacrifices you'll have to make. Then after 6 months, you'll suddenly love every single thing about your child and you'll be ready to fight and die for him.
