The reality here is: OP found a woman he loves and wanted to marry. Did it in an unconventional venue, and was a success. Good for him! Don't be such a negative ******* for the sake of beig a dick...

I live in S California now and one thing I notice when I go back there is how different the clothing styles are. MI is still pretty basic. Cargo shorts, t shirts, flip flops, loose jeans, LL Bean etc. Here in S Cal it is quite a bit different......obviously.
Also the one thing that I really notice now is the accent. I never knew how much of an accent us Michiganders have until I hear people from back home talking.....especially the girls. Many speak out of their nose and have kind of a high pitched voice. When I first moved to CA I was told I had an accent and never believed it. I have gradually lost it as I have been out here for 13 years now but definitely notice it when I talk to my family and friends back there.
