yeah well good luck proving it wasn't just an honest mistake that while installing the new one I put the old one in the box hehe silly me or better yet claim that's what you got and that's why you wanted a refund. I guess it's a good thing the people at amazon returns don't know the difference between a 1080 or a 2080.

There is a downside though. I don't think Amazon is taking a loss, or isn't always taking a loss, the company that makes the product can be taking the loss.
I had ordered some stuff once and the courier delivered it to the wrong address. The photo they took of it in the mailbox... I had no idea whose house that was. Contacted Amazon and they resent my entire order.

Couple days later I got an email from one of the companies of the stuff I bought asking me why I was unsatisfied and decided to return the item. And they also said that regardless of my review, they will take the loss.

That's nice. I ordered a $40 pocket knife and they shipped me an empty box so I asked them to replace it, they sent another one and charged me again, so I paid $80 for a $40 item. I'm ceo crew so I didn't even bother complaining to get my money back but I figured since they have cornered the market they would be routinely fukking people over in this fashion moving forward.

Similar to Costco. I had a conversation with the manager one since I was returning a high value item and was curious how it worked. Basically it depends on their agreement with that specific seller, but essentially if you return it they send it back to wherever and Costco gets their $$ back.

theres been times where it said my thing was delivered but i couldnt find it and they gave me a refund
then i ended up finding the box

I ordered a pair of shoes once a couple years back, and neither I, nor Amazon, could figure out why I got 9 pairs of shoes sent to me (All identical) but I did, and they just told me to keep them. I only ever got charged for the 1 pair.

Still have like 4 unopened pairs lmao.


Literally never had a problem with Amazon Customer service, even when took advantage of some scam and got a bunch of echo dots for a buck.

I have zero doubt you could... I know someone who built an entire PC using this method and got every refund like clockwork without a single question. The more the two parts look alike the better, most look similar anyway.

Yeah I get it Amazon is a garbage company and it doesn't feel wrong to rip them off but when people do this stuff then legit missing packages like my $800 computer doesn't get fixed. I've told the story how amazon basically told me to fuk off until I tell them a police report number but the cops wouldn't take a report because I never had possession or proof it was actually delivered so I wasn't a victim of theft. It's sad how many people think they are ripping off a billion dollar company to justify theft, but it's the manufacturer or small business owner that eats those loses. Probably why a lot of larger brands don't sell on Amazon.

Amazon has always done well by me.

The only issue I ever had after years of buying from them was that they recently lost my couch in the mail. I called them up and they immediately sent a new one so that was perfectly fine.
