If you watch the film in today's context, the were in "Clownworld" where everything is broken down and extremely stupid, but there was also a deadly lack of concern for human life.

So, it was about the overt story but it was about how a good person will get dealt with in clownworld.

In the sequel is was largely about PC brainwashing, and that was like 30 years ago.

I didn't say it WAS PC brainwashing.

This is true. Paul Verhoeven has made some really great films over the years.

I remember when Robocop came out that they had to cut a lot of the ED 209 test scene out.

Not to be that guy, but First Blood the book is insanely good. I read it in 8th grade and I still recall the graphic scene of Rambo slashing one of the cop's bellies and the cop, in shock, tries to push his intestines back inside.

Of course the book ends in a way that would have killed the movie franchise - and that was the problem, they turned Rambo into an anti-hero in the film when he is more of a villain in the book.

I also don't understand the love for T2. The special effects were fantastic and neat for the time.

But c'mon - John Connor is a whining b*tch of a kid and he begins to love his cyborg father figure? nah....nah. Also the T-1000 is the worst terminator ever, he had so many opportunities to terminate John but decided to engage in a fight with the T-800 instead.
