I would quit lifting if I didn't progressive overload, talk about boring. Not a fan of being all show and no go either. Nothing like loading up 3+ plates and benching that chit.

How many reps and sets do u do? 3 x3 ?? or 4 sets x 12 reps?
unless you’re a competitve powerlifer, no one gives a fk what’s your 1RM SBD JFL

but you can obviously use 1RM calculators to compare way different rep ranges.

the secret to getting bigger with minimal fat gain is strengthening the compound movements. (obviously genetics as well)
towards a point the muscles can’t engorge with water anymore, you need to build real muscle tissue.

I think I have the best chest when pumped in my gym, yet I can barely rep 225 on a flat bench. I can train myself to rep more and a heavier weight, but I dislike the flat bench
However, the amount of different types of chest exercises I have done consistently over the years are probably the reason I have the best chest + genetics

You'll get much better results if you just stick to a weight you can do with perfect form.

It is not about how much weight you lift.
It is about how you lift the weight.

i see to many guys at the gym training their ego doing ****ty half and quarter reps.
you need that mind muscle connection and full range of motion.
it's how much weight you look like you can lift.

Bodybuilding is about contracting and squeezing the muscles rather than focusing on weights itself.... Your chest is most likely to give out when benching.

(weighted) Push ups have given be the best chest gains so far. Focusing strictly on activating the chest and using it to execute the movement instead of making it a shoulder and tricep exercise.
I have trash chest genetics and even harder time activating it properly. So whenever I'm doing push ups I put a lot of emphasis on brining the elbows together and lowering the weight on my back whenever I don't feel my chest is blasted after a set. Can do only 1/4th of the reps this way but been getting the best gains out of it ever since I've started training.
Good rule of thumb: If you don't feel your chest activating/firing or getting worked during the set you're probably wasting your time. Back to the drawing board and figure out why you're not activating the pecs properly. You probably need to go even lower in weight or maybe even assist yourself during push ups till you find the sweet spot and technique. This will carry over nicely to the majority of other chest exercises.
Trust me, worst chest genetics of all times. All my relatives are flat chested and have always complained about not being able to build it either. So take it how you want it.

big chests are unnatural. There is no way to build a big chest in nature. All other body parts would grow naturally by doing daily activities, like moving big rocks, throwing spears, rowing boats, sprinting, climbing. Nothing would hit chest significantly . Basically training chests is for narcissist try hard gymcels

The thing about barbell bench pressing is that it involves so many muscles besides the chest. Triceps and delts are just as involved, not to mention the importance of form/leg drive/etc. There's a reason why a guy being able to bench 225 doesn't automatically make their chest look non-soy.
Having said that, I don't think I've ever met a guy who legit benched 315+ with good form who had a weak looking chest, unless it was a super fat dude. Genetics/age might make a guy who primarily reps out at lower weights look better than a dude who focuses on lifting heavy, but it's not the norm. Also, there's a big difference between repping out at low weights with focused intensity while knowing what you're doing and some soycel who is just farting around in the gym looking for excuses to avoid lifting heavy.

405 crew, srs. Probably know more about bench than virtually anyone on this Misc.
High rep 225 crew is the best crew for chest (unless Bradley Martyn status). If you can't hit 225 lbs for 16+ reps then drop to 185, if you can't hit 185 for 16 reps then you really don't need to worry about having "the best chest" lmao.
Then high rep low weight cable flies with maximum squeezed hold at mixed angles and going beyond the point where your hands meet (cross with arms on slightly different planes, 125 degreeish rotation versus standard 90 degree rotation most noobs do, also going as far back as you can without injuring yourself).
