You can schedule and work it out that way. FT at the facility I work at is 36/hrs a week. 3 12 hr shifts. It takes a little work, like trading shifts with others but you can schedule it out to work Sun,Mon and Tues and be off Wed-Wed and work Thurs-Sat. It doesn't happen all the time but it is possible. Now, my schedule involves a chit ton of OT but before OT, my schedule is usually something like this for a 2 week period. Work Mon, Tues,Sat,Sun,Wed and Thurs. The next week is work Tues,Fri,Sat,Sun,Wed,Thurs. Our requirements are 2 weekends a month. I work at an ER in the Medical Center in Houston.

I couldn't do psych. Seemed boring to me during clinical's. Upside is you get to wear street clothes instead of scrubs.
Good for you man props to doing ER; Im pretty sure psych if my kind of thing though after clinicals. Also psych has a lot of male RNs, I think its has the highest ammount out of all specialties.
