Not against it but pretty concerned because it was not fully tested, no time to see side effects. Kind of a lottery

You should be more confident because you're absolutely right. Other countries have gone the route of injecting the "dead virus." The recent vaccines contain mRNA. All we know for sure is that they obtained approval through COVID. We don't know the effects. They could be dangerous or otherwise worthless injections that are being repurposed for cash-money.

This is meaningless unless you are willing to take the next step and actually demand that they be held accountable for fuking this up.

We all have social media and all know who is getting blamed here. Joe/Jane citizen is taking the wrap for the consequences of government/media fuk ups.

People are taking a look at the picture they are being presented and saying "fuk this vaccine". This isn't their fault.

There are no mysterious long term effects. Vaccines are very simple, in layman's terms: you destroy/remove the 'dangerous' parts of the virus. you inject a non-harming dose of said modified virus in your system.
Your body is developed to destroy any foreign matters in your system and will afterwards also create 'fighter cells' (i.e. immunise the body) that will fight against any similar foreign matters for future encounters.
So no chance of say autoimmune issues happening, correct? You are working on a comp sci degree so I'm interested. Also since 3% are having severe reactions requiring time off work and medical care, is that standard? What's the standard for acceptable amounts of severe reactions?

depending on the person genetic, it might just be a few percentages lower ...

f*ckpeople and their car analogy when it comes to covid ... makes me ****ing cringe.. just shows us that you're brain dead by using any car analogy for this scamdemic

i read one that said
'' not getting vaccinated is like not having breaks on a car''

this is wrong on so many level and can be both refuted even if the vaccine does not leave you contagious toward others

I agree with OP, this vaccine is likely not very risky and it’s sure as sh*t not controlling you with chip implants or whatever.

What OP can’t explain to me (us) is why should we take it?

The very thing it protects against is, simply put, not a severe virus for people our age.

If the people who are at risk get the vaccine then I also don’t need to worry about passing it to someone vulnerable.

It’s no different than flu season, which I also don’t get a vaccine for.

So what’s the draw to getting it OP? Your argument that it’s not dangerous isn’t a good reason to do something just for the sake of doing it.

Tldr
So shove your med degree up your ass. Your medical expertise should make you able to accomplish this easily.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

There’s nothing from a mechanistic standpoint that warrants long term concern. All the other components of the vaccine are very well studied, and (for example) moderna’s vaccine also includes an mRNA which codes for a piece of the virus. Could it have a long term side effect? Yes, but the odds are very slim. We know what it is doing. It’s entering the cell, and being translated into a piece of the virus that the immune system will generate a response to and recognize in the future.

Now the point is this: compare that risk to the virus itself. Apply the same skepticism of the long term side effects from the virus. SARS-COV-2 is poorly adapted to humans. It’s novel. We still don’t entirely understand why it infects the organs that it does, or even which tissues it has the ability to invade. Not to mention it has about 28x more RNA in it than what the vaccine is carrying and that RNA is constantly changing with every infection.

Put simply, I don’t think either will have long term side effects. But from an odds standpoint, long term side effects from the vaccine are FAR less likely than long term side effects from the virus itself. If you want to put the vaccine under a microscope and say it COULD have side effects, well sure. But you need to the same thing with the virus, and then weigh the relative odds. Even if you are a healthy adult, there is no reason to not get the vaccine.

But then why aren't you concerned about the long term side effects of covid? From what I've read, the medium-term effects of covid (months) can be debilitating (go read about "long haulers"), and wehave no idea what the long term effects are since the virus has only been in existence for a year.

What happens if this virus has a similar effect to the varicella zoster virus which immediately causes chickenpox but then decades down the road that infection you got as a kid breaks out again as shingles. You literally have no idea what the long term effects of covid may be.

So basically what you're saying is you trust the long term effects of this mystery virus that was probably engineered in a top secret communist Chinese lab in Wuhan over an American made transparent vaccine with published data and determined to be safe by the incredibly conservative FDA.
