Aren't those 5,4% you're using CDC numbers from the USA? If you'd put the death rate is 1,1% for people over 65 that would sounds a lot more convincing. You could also argue it's more convincing to turn the numbers around and say the SURVIVAL RATE is 98,9% because it could look more positive that way.
Can you point to the specific part where it says IFR for over 65s in France is 1.1%? Maybe I'm blind but I'm struggling to find it.
