Bro, did you...

did you not lift at all during the lockdowns?

You can do calisthenics at a park, push-ups, pull-ups, muscleups,

legs has been a challenge for me, cause I only have 2 45 plates, 2 25’s, and 2 10’s in my rack (you still get a good pump, and focus on control, but it’s not the same)

Biking up long steep hills (no resting) and walking up and down a lot of stairs has been pretty good though ngl

Quick note for some of you to consider. I am talking to myself, but applies to others

Is your body currently even in a position to effectively lose fat?
-How long have you been eating a low amount of cals?
-When was the last time you ate at maintenance or a surplus for 6-8+ weeks?
-Have you assisted letting any nagging injuries heal by eating at a surplus?
-Are you currently even anywhere near your previous muscle mass or strength levels?
-How are you currently partitioning food?
-What is your insulin sensitivity like?
-Are you a shadow of your former self due to lock downs?

Basically... think about, how is your metabolism currently?A lot of people might be better off actually have a pre-fat loss dieting phase which consists of regaining a fuk ton of strength, size, and bolstering metabolism to later then become a fat melting furnace... via eating much more food and calories for a few months. 1 step back to take many forward, consider it if it applies.

Why not, in. Currently about 190-195 at 5'5", same mass as profile but more fat, maybe in the 20-23% range. Been working a lot more so diet gone to ass but still lifting (DYEL status all the same).

Wouldn't mind dropping to at least 12%, maybe less again.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

I'm down to 238lbs as of today. Off to a good start. Headed to the gym later and doing cardio.

I am lifting 3x a week and doing cardio 3x a week. Im going to the gym 6 days a week with Sundays off.

Its time for me to get serious with the gym and bust my ass to transform my physique. Im sick of looking fat and sloppy. Im building my physique brick by brick, step by step. Im taking each day as it goes and I am chipping away at improving my physique until all the steps I take turns into one big reward; my transformation.

Brb 5 months of an hypercaloric diet and somehow im still just 8 weeks away from beach-ready leanness (that a word?)

Alright I made it in the first post! Just had my first decent week of training after a neck injury. I should be able to beat my last year physique no problem.

I’m coming back from this injury a year ago

I had dislocated my shoulder and severed my axillary nerve (axillary nerve palsy).

I couldn’t move my left arm for 3 months (srs) after 3 months I could start moving my fingers; after 6 months, I had very limited mobility in my arm. The doctor told me I probably wouldn’t be lifting again but my physical therapist knows me better, and knows I will do everything I can to get back. Let’s just say the doctor was wrong.

Will upload progress pics later

Damn that's rough. I compressed the nerve that runs down my right arm. I lost over half the strength in my right tricep. I couldn't imagine going through what you did though.

Yeah my tricep got weak because of this, it’s weird to be holding equal weight in both hands and it’s significantly harder on the injured side. Did you get your right tricep back to 100%? It’s taking me a while lol, I think the calisthenics is helping

It's about 90% right now. I've been doing one arm floor presses just doing whatever weight I could with my right side and maintaining the strength I have with my good side. Barbell bench still feels unstable but I can do ohp pretty well.

I’m in. Awesome physiques in the first page. I have a home gym setup so I can train as normal. Gonna keep it to 3x per week though and cardio off days. Could someone critique my training style? Modeled it after Jordan Peters who recommends high intensity low volume. Every set is to failure

THE SHREDZ matters!
She approached with her hand extended,. I slowly stepped back. "No" she said. "I just want to shake your hand. You're amazingly gorgeous." As she walked by me she copped a biceps feel.

How has recovery been on your arm, and what have you been doing to rebuild strength?

Zero sets to failure ever crew. I didn't review your training style but I never ever recommend training to failure. I think it's a silly concept and encourages injury.

Work smarter > harder. Less sets, more intelligent progression.

I'm working on it, it means I will need to kick the drinking though (no easy task).

Beer is my achilles heel, and then I tend to eat like a pig when I drink so that's a double whammy - even though I'm really good about working out and doing cardio - it can't offset that shyt (and drinking like I do is a shyt habit anyway).

Thanks brah, this is actually the 2nd time I’ve dislocated it, I healed pretty quickly the first time. The nerve damage is what fukked me up here, way worse.

The dislocation and nerve damage caused my left arm/shoulder to completely atrophy in under 4 weeks, crazy how fast it happens. After I got enough mobility, I did range of motion exercises with bands, this lasted for a while, once I was able to get about 70% range of motion, I introduced light weights. I’m at about 85% now and the imbalance it barely noticeable unless I really look for it.

I can do pull-ups and pushups again, which is helping to correct the imbalances, because I’m not using other muscles to compensate on my left side as much (though I can really feel the difference when benching anything over 135), so I’m stuck at 135 until it feels equal again.

I went from 196 to 177 and now I’m at 186... shredded as a mf, can really see serratus when I lift my arm up, goal is to gain back that 10 lb very slowly without losing shreds

Agreed here. In the past, I would only do failure on dips if it was at the end of a chest workout or something like that, or pull-ups to end a back day— failure to me is the last rep with proper form and control and nothing beyond that.

But with 2 shoulder dislocations under my belt now, I think those days are over
