in terms of development. usa is far more ahead. canada is not even progressing in any way. vietnam, philippines, thailand, have modernized way faster than us in the past 10-20 years. what we have in canada is a joke. yeah healthcare is free meaning hospital visits and doctor visits. but everything here is also much more expensive than in the US and we have hardcore sales tax. healthcare being free is also an issue too, especially since homeless can just walk in a hospital and get treated. that's where our tax money goes to.

I'm not going to sit here and say everything is peachy in America. We definitely have an obesity problem and we're going to have a reckoning for our excessive spending and money printing. But as ugly as our finances are, Australia's are actually worse. IIRC Australia has the worst household debt of both developed and undeveloped country. Also, good luck affording a home in Australia if you're just entering the market. At least in America a young person can still move to a place like Ohio or Indiana and afford a home on a median salary.

Also my access to healthcare isn't dependent on the solvency of my over indebted government. Don't think you can say the same in Aus.

But we shouldn't be dogging on each other. I'm rooting for aussies. In a few years time we're all gonna be in the same boat choking down China's cok
