Mine’s part of a multigym. Also has the pad that prevents you from taking flight when the weight gets too heavy. Can do pulldowns with various grips and attachments, rows, cable crossovers/flys, shoulder raises, upright rows, as well as a seated chest press with various grips. Tricep pushdowns with various grips. Cable crunches. Bodyweight pull-ups with the racked pulldown (sadly the seat prevents you from dangling a weight belt). It’s pretty nifty.

Op if you want to invest in a great bar, I highly recommend a t-bar of some sort. Literally my favorite piece of equipment for working back.

I feel like free weights are so excellent.

Do you think a lat pull down is worth it? Any other tips on home gym set up are welcome.
yes, a lat pull down machine is a good investment, especially if you buy multiple attachments for it. it will allow you to lower the weight and perform the movement with numerous variations like extremely wide grip, or leaning back for a high row variation. you can maintain good form even after having performed lots of reps.

Just do pull-ups or negatives until you can do them.
Lat-pull down is a waste of money, unless you have many other machines. In your case you don’t, so it’s an easy decision.

Lat pulldowns are not a waste of money. If you buy correctly, there are dozens of exercises you can do in them from pulldowns, triceps pressdowns, cable curls, face pulls, overhead extensions, pullovers, etc.

People saying "just do pullups bro" don't have any idea what they're talking about here.

It might be the best "bang for your buck" item you can buy for your gym besides the basics like power rack, plates, barbells, etc

Good point. I'm used to a full gym, so changing over to free weights would be a lot less painful with some kind of lat pull down system. I saw some videos and there really are a lot of things one can do.

That's probably the best lat tower available at that price point.

I would take it a step further and look into a good functional trainer. For example, the Inspire FT2. That's at the top of my wish list. It's hella expensive tho.
