because all those people probably still work hard but don't have like access to healthcare for example
objectively, not having access to healthcare will be a default primary biological concern for anyone compared to a vacation

Lol at the idiots who agree with this video.
- That mortgage is actually really low for someone who makes 100k. That translates to about a 200k home.
- Only a moron pays $530 for a car payment
- $440 health insurance for a SINGLE person? Maybe if you were working in a sweat shop in China. Most places are around $150 a month
- Eh retirement is probably low actually
- $390 a month in student loan debt? Borderline stupid
-$500 a month in groceries for a SINGLE person?
- $250 in utilities? Awfully high for a 200k home.
- $150 for cable/internet - probably right
-$150 for one cell phone? They don't even offer single plans that high anymore
- $200 in gas? That comes out to driving3,000 miles per month
- $400 date night? Pricey for sure
- $120 in car insurance is reasonable
And before anyone says this isn't for single people!1111!! Then its more than 100k of income you potato.

and again, not having vacation days is the thing that people would be upset about - burnout is a thing
how much disposable income you have on any given day, IDK how you can define what we need a minimum. well we do that to a certain extent, it's called welfare, but as pointed above it is to maintain the welfare of those in need - providing food/shelter because lack of those threatens their survival
in the end, you have only 3 choices if you feel like this is not enough/you want to allocate more capital to a certain characteristic of your life:
a) produce more - could be higher pay job or more hours; or a scalable business
b) reduce expenditure and make compromises on other parts of your life - ****tier car, smaller house/mortgage to afford a better vacation
c) a combination of a) and b)

Dude what?
I make ~$40K and if I made $100K with my spending habits, rent price, and bills, I would absolutely be living very comfortably.
$100K is not broke and any idiot trying to argue that can only justify that case in places with obscenely high rent like NYC

Two things:
1. It depends on your location.
A few minutes in, he mentions living in New York. My wife and I have a household income of $170k this year and I feel like Scrooge McDuck swimming in money (kinda srs). But we live in a suburb of Nashville, Tn. If we lived in New York, I'd be paying double for several key expenses and things would definitely be tighter.
2. It depends on what you mean by broke.
I'd put my house and our neighborhood up against anybody's. It's very nice for any income level. But we don't have a bunch of debt. Also, I drive a 2017 Chevy Impala (with less than 20,000 miles on it) and my wife drives a 2016 GMC Acadia (paid for). My daughter has a $10,000 car and so does my son.
So if you think that people not driving the nicest Mercedes Benz or other fancy cars are broke (another thing mentioned in the video)... then it just turns into a matter of perspective. We all make choices. I'd rather put money away than drive fancy cars. Does that make me broke? Not from my perspective.

Two incomes and low COL areas is living like absolute royalty. It's amazing that people don't celebrate the pure opulence of modern times and whine to Bernie on Twitter all day long to come save them. Going to be a real shame when we lose our standard of living, if only we could lock in to where we are at right now.

How is that broke? Looks like he pays everything off and includes money for date nights (aka entertainment and activities) and vacations. He also has money dedicated toward savings and retirement contributions.
And he STILL has $740 left over every month? LOL where is the "broke" in this? Once student loans gets cleared it's actually $1080 left over every month.
Are some of you actually needing more than $1k/month on materialistic items? What in the actual f*ck...

All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Meh, I agree that $100K isn't anything to fawn over in the largest metros, but this budget is tarded. First of all, you should max out your 401K if you can since it gives you a huge tax break. Secondly, $530 for a car is insane. You're making $100K - you're not in a position to buy a C Class even. Stick to the Camry for now and keep grinding for the Mercedes later. $500 for groceries is also ridiculous for one person. Should be closer to $250 or so max, even if you're buying organic or are a manmore. Cable is stupid in todays day and age. I pay like $60 for internet and then have a couple of streaming services for a total of $80-90 max. $400 for date nights is lol. I get that initially you have to pay, but if you guys aren't splitting after that, you're a pussy.
I think something like $150K or so is the new $100K. $200K is an exaggeration, especially since the woman in households are usually working nowadays. Even if she earns $50K in some bull**** job, that's $200K+ household income if you're pulling $150K. If you allocated all of her salary solely to childcare, which is extremely generous at current estimates, you still have all of your salary left over for rent, investing, and pretty comfortable leisure.

If broke means having only $12,000 left over every year after everything is paid for (including vacations, savings, etc.) instead of having, say, $100,000 left over, then what the hell are we talking about?
Butbrokeandnot richare two different things.

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I make just under $100K in California and still feel broke.
Student loans paid for
Car paid for
38% of gross goes to state/federal taxes.
29% of gross income/50% net income goes to rent (yes over-rented, but got a place on a hiking trail 2 miles from the beach, nice af/10).
15% of gross goes to employee stock plan investments.
18% of gross available to pay credit card
401k gets whatever I don't spend on CC.
Basically I walk around with about $1100 every month after everything is paid for. That's with no roomies and a solid amount of investments, but I ain't taking $3K vacations with it or chit.

Absolutely clickbait video and BS numbers trying to justify it.

I personally make around the same, live about the same, and save about the same. I don't "feel broke" because I have all those things though. I felt broke when I was making $1.3k/month living in a closet aka Army barracks working 12+ hour days 5 days a week.
