When this garbage started in spring I was like, ok it's new, noone knows wtf is going on, I'll tough it out for a month or two.

Now I am so fukking over it it's not even funny. Mentally completely exhausted, brb dark depressing winter, everything closed, lifting in my tiny appartment, 0 job opportunities with no end in sight, can't go see anyone, meet new people, even go to a fuking store to buy clothes.

I see a lot of people coping with everything returning to normal but I doubt it at this point. Suicide rates gonna be through the roof during these times.

Been saying this since May. Made several FB posts about how many people would die from a broken economy and overdoses etc, and how you can't trust the covid numbers because of poor statistical parameters and basically they're completely unscientific. Also mentioned the john's hopkins study that showed medical errors are the third leading cause of death in America as evidence that ventilator use was actually killing tons of people in the beginning. I got 90% pushback from people who talked to me like I wanted a million people to die-- they couldn't even acknowledge that lockdowns would hurt people even when I pressed them.

Then last month when proof came out that the overdose rate in my city went up 50% and the increase alone exceeded covid deaths, somehow all of those haters had nothing to say about it. Completely silent. Huh.

Lockdowns at this point is doing way more harm than good. Having said that, I'm one of those people where the lockdowns barely affected my way of my life. The only thing is that I couldn't go to the gym any more. But I converted my garage into a capable garage gym at the start of the lockdowns, so I'm good there now.

It's been basically a corona-cation for me for all of 2020. But I know that gravy train can't last forever and the lockdowns need to end now. I just hope when society comes to it's senses and opens everything back up, working-from-home is the normal thing everywhere and not the exception. That is if we have a society left to go back to.

The virus spreads very efficiently through human contact, therefore you have to limit human contact.

We can't allow health services to be overwhelmed, because this will have a knock-on effect for non-COVID related illnesses.

I think staying at home and being bored is a fair price to pay.

Of course, if I were the 1%, I'd be riding this out on a Hawaiian island instead of the concrete jungle.

People under 35 need to revolt against this bilaterally, they account for less than 1% of the deaths and their future is being taken away by these Politicians/Elites/Corporations. The amount of debt, economic strife being thrown on their shoulders is astounding, for LESS than 1000 deaths in their age bracket.

Go take a look at cases per million, the states that are generally open, the correlation between lockdowns and lower cases doesn't universally exist, with proper safety protocols in place, not crippling business by shutting them down completely, a more favorable outcome can be achieved. The Politicians who have done this are pandering plain and simple, they need to be held accountable.

If you live your life in fear of death, you are already dead. Better to die on your feet than live on your knees. Seems this whole thing is asking people to live on their knees. Two things guaranteed in life, and that is death and taxes. It's going to happen some day. In fact, millions die every year. It's something like an average of 7500 a day die here in the US alone. It has been a little higher due to COVID, but when this is over, that number will probably drop because all it did was speed up the process on a lot of people who were already on their way out. I don't want to be insensitive because of course when it's your loved one, getting one more day would be a blessing but I'm just being matter of fact.

All in all, lockdowns don't really work, Neither do masks. I would go as far as to say that the mask thing causes more harm than good because it gives a false sense of security to people who probably shouldn't be out in public at all. Virtue signalling doesn't do anything positive.

This is a good plan. The problem with most americans is that they have no plan. All these things you listed should have been handled way before any pandemic hit. Never too late but those that arent feeling the affects of the pandemic already had preparations in place.

I always wonder when I see threads like this with people whining about the government is doing this, they are forcing us to do that, etc etc.....what the point of all of it is.

So i have to wear a mask when i go into an establishment. Who cares. I rarely go to places with mass people anyways because the common person is not aware of their surroundings and selfish.

I was told by a friend (who is a nurse and just recently got the covid vaccine 1st shot) that even with vaccination, all safety protocols will still have to observed (i.e masks, social separation, closure of any social spots like restaurants, restrictions on travel etc). So then the question becomes, what's the point of getting this vaccine if it changes nothing?

But according to her, things can only change for the better (open up) if at least 80% of the population get vaccinated.

I had covid and all I had was loss of taste and smell, literally improved my cardio and lifts while I had it

Girlfriend who lives with me tested negative twice after I had it, so much for super contagious virus eh?
