They'll give anyone with a pulse a franchise. Low barrier of entry to own one.
I will never ever go there because they are super stingy with the ingredients and will nickle and dime you. They cut and spread their meats and cheeses so thin that there will be some with every bite but just enough and nothing in excess.
Why go there when chick fil a and in and out burger will give you more fresh hot food for a couple of bucks more?
Plus their bread has a chemical smell.

Used to eat Subway all the time about 5 years ago when I lived closed by one, then moved and never really went backed. I got a coupon for a free sub one time a couple years ago and was disappointed with my sandwich after not having Subway for so long. Cheap tasting and looking while being overpriced. They use to do the $5 foot long back in the day but know I don't think they do it and if they do its like bottom of the barrel sandwich.

Because the sandwich baristas give you a happy ending if you know how to ask for it. Next time you’re near a subway just ask for quadruple meat and see what happens.
Entire NYPD should go on strike. You'll see then how quickly the mayor changes his tone.

Haven't had Subway in about 10 years. The last time I ate a sandwich from there, my stomach exploded so that was enough for me not to go back.

tradies keep buying them (srs)
their quality has noticeably declined over the decade srs, as a kid I used to look forward my parents buying it
it's a steaming pile of hot garbage
5 dollar footlongs were great but I think the franchisee's were losing money on this. many have closed down.

So glad I don't have an "educated pallet". Its legit gotta suck.
Subs are fuking subs. They all taste fine. Its all the same chit. Just big sandwiches.
Feel this way about so many foods. Honestly feel blessed that "quality" is never something that even crosses my mind when I'm eating, taste wise.
Anything in a food chain is plenty tasty. I have to go to like a dollar store to find food that actually tastes like its garbage quality. And even then I'll still enjoy eating it.

Had this conversation not long ago. Olive Garden commercial came on and talked about how bad it is now and wondered how they still stay in business. A lot of chains don't have a real kitchen operation onsite anymore. They have commissaries where the food is made and then it is trucked to the individual restaurants where the food gets microwaved.
I can get microwave ready Italian food from the freezer section or deli of a supermarket and I don't have to tip anyone.

I remember getting $5 footlongs in the 2010's, then hadn't gone to subway for like 5 years and got it one day and was like WTF $8 for my spicy italian?
Still get it occasionally but that's because there's a 24 hour one walking distance from me

Subway hasn't been a genuinely good place to eat since like 1998. They skated by on the "healthy fast food" gimmicks and decent prices into the early 2010's, but have been pretty dogchit all around since then when they jacked up the prices.
They succeed based on familiarity and people being boring af in general. Hell, I've lost count of how many females I've met who yap about wanting to "travel the world" and "experience culture, hehehehehe!! xoxoxo" who consider meatball subs from Subway a great go-to meal...
Oh, and let me add that their business model sucks straight donkey angus. Brb one person running the entire line solo, and finishes making sandwiches for every damn person who walks in after you while you sit at the damn cash register waiting to pay and so you can leave, probably just so they don't have to change gloves as much. I felt like waiting 5-10 minutes with your damn sub by the register waiting to be able to pay was a staple of their business model unless you go during a lunch/dinner rush hour when they actually have more than one sorry bastard working the line. All their workers are always miserable af too, imagine how well they treat the processed garbage they call "food" before it makes it to the customers.

Whenever I go to subway i always get nervous when i'm ordering i rehearse it before i leave the house but i always fuk it up. Last time I asked for the sauce before i told them what kind of sub i wanted and I ended up getting accidentally getting no cheese. I know some of you also struggle with this kind of shyt so I'm sharing this how to tutorial that i found helpful. I've already read it over 3 times and already feel more prepared to order my next subway sandwich i hope you guys like it too.
1. Make all decisions (the type of bread, meat, vegetables, and cheese) before you approach the counter.
Do not wait until you're asked to decide. If you're unsure, allow others to order first.
Ask any questions you have before beginning the order process. This can include any questions about vegetarian-friendly sandwiches, general meals, prices, etc. Many Subway restaurants have sticker labels on the glass displays about the different cheeses and breads available.
It is a good idea to ask about Halal options first. In some Subways in the UK, the ham is turkey (ham), as is the bacon. In others the turkey is turkey, the ham is pork ham.
2. Request the type of sandwich you want.
Know that Subway also carries flat breads and salads.
Know that sandwiches come in either 6-inch or foot-longs. If you have a friend, a foot-long can easily be split in two to save money.
Tell the staff the type of bread you would like. It may differ from store to store, but the choices can include Italian, white, wheat, honey oat, Hearty Italian (Italian bread sprinkled with cornmeal), or herbs and cheese.
Add cheese, if desired. Not all Subways carry the same kinds of cheese, and some cheeses look similar, so be specific. Do not just say the white cheese as almost all Subway cheese varieties are white.
Decide upon warming. Would you like your sandwich placed in the oven and toasted or microwaved? Toasting a sandwich is a good idea if it is a wet sandwich like meatballs or with a hot meat like steak or chicken. Try cold cut subs hot for a different taste. Note that the Subways in the UK no longer allow the microwaving of sandwiches, only the meats.
Tell the worker what types of vegetables you would like in your sandwich. Be specific with amounts, such as "light lettuce" (for a small amount) or "a lot of pickles". Also be specific with names. Telling the worker you want peppers is not helpful because more subways carry green peppers, mild peppers, and jalapeno peppers.
Order condiments, such as mayonnaise, mustard, sweet onion sauce, etc. All vinegars, salt, and ground black pepper are also in this area. If you're not ordering off the menu, nothing is 'automatically' put on.
3.Pay at the register the amount you are told.
Unless the price seems very unreasonable, do not argue or comment about the price because it is preset by the computer. Unless a wrong item was rung up, there is nothing a member of staff can do to change the price. However, if you wish to save money, avoid going for the combo deal. Also, you can ask for water and they will provide you with a free cup.

Where do you think normies and walmart patrons are going to go when they're on a diet and want to eat healthy? Subway is their 'I'm watching my weight' choice.
Edit: Also their footlongs are a scam. Back when they were doing $5 footlongs I measured some and they were like 9 and 10 inches. Jfl

convenience and accesability coupled with idiots who still think its healthy. Outside of people who actually lift and have shown any interest in real nutrition, the vast majority of the country still sees subway as a healthy weightloss option.

I go to subways less than once a month when the footlong spicy Italian (no homo) is $5.99. Double meat (again, no homo) for $2. I actually do like the spicy Italian at subways and not just because it's under $9 for double meat. I also try different small local chains or single location sandwich shops/delis.

I went into a Subway recently and bought 2 or 3 footlongs for some people. I realized I forgot my money and dude (manager on the phone) said to just take it and come back. I was floored. The girl at the register said the manager authorizes this all the time.

I've never eaten a sandwich from there (srs)
I've seen what they look like and I'm too grossed out.
I don't need to eat a loaf of bread with a bunch of lettuce shoved in the middle
