In all honesty I think as long as you don’t hate your job, you’re in pretty good shape.

It’s cool and desirable to have a job you love. But that’s pretty rare.

Met senior exec team yesterday briefly over zoom and my potential direct managers have scheduled calls with my references today who are my bosses at my prior role and I'm still friends with them, so they are basically going to pump my tires hard

SaaS account exec. No I don’t like it but that’s because I don’t like working period. Big $ though. As far as jobs go its really good and I can’t complain. Artificial stress from internal goals, KPIs and politics but that is a lot of jobs. If people stop trying to find work they like and focus on making money, they would be a lot more successful.

I'm a SNS content moderator. This is the third fiscal year at the job for me since I found this job at age 59 after quit my previous job of over 35 years.

I am good at it, I like it and feel very lucky because I could WFH, stay up-to-date with current events around the world, learn about various people and culture, understand what people think about and most of all I have this opportunity to learn something new all the time in order to make the right decisions for the community while I get paid decently.

Again, I love my job.

These days, I teach (Quebec equivalent of) community college.

The money's decent and I like teaching, but the administrative chit is soul-crushing. Overall... not great, not terrible.

That’s great to hear because sometimes people who have been at one company for 30 to 40 years are completely lost in a new job. Is this one similar to what you did at the last place or is it completely different?

I used to like my job but it’s been a nightmare with Covid. I’m just glad I have a job right now because many people I know have lost theirs since their companies have shut down as they’re not able to operate. So I’m lucky in that sense.

As a first responder to emergencies yes. Pay is good. Benefits good. 50k a year just in overtime. And actually help people who are in a situation in which they are scared

Thanks brother, yes I know what you mean exactly. Also we are lucky to have our current job in this trying time.

I worked for a bookstore company and for the first 10 years I was a clerk and then a store manager. During the rest of my career, I worked as their web-master, online shop manager and ASP(an now dead jargon,Application Service Provider) division manager.

So the current job could be somewhat benefited by my previous experiences.

Self employed tradie, some months are better than others, one month I may rake it in, one month I may have to watch my spending. But I'd do it for less.

I'd probably eat a bullet if I ever had to go back to punching someone else's clock

oilfield operator. small field, my exact position has been changed around a lot. I appreciate the change up and most of my positions have been very lax. That and having a week on/off shift is very nice. Using my free time to grow an online coaching business and investment portfolio. Plan is to be self employed entirely within a year at 26.

not really, but it pays well and I'll retire at 55. if I were to move from the consulting side to the owner side, it would be better, but the pay would be much less (civil engineering)
