I'm sick of this victim mentality. Why are hedge fund billionaires crying on live TV instead of pulling themselves up by their bootstraps? Do they even know how to budget? I bet they all have brand new iphones.
Have they even thought about working another job, learning to code, or driving for lyft in their spare time? Rich people get there by living like peasants. Maybe they should sack up and stop asking for handouts from the middle class? Ever think of that? I used to be poor, but now I have a 3 series bmw and am clearly rich as fukk.

You don't think quant hedge funds have been killing it the past few days?
There are likely many hedge funds that went long and are responsible for the majority of the volume.

if you don't like your brokerage account, step up to the big leagues and either become your own broker dealer or get a prime brokerage account.
this is what happens when you are a non accredited investor and rely on retail brokerages to manage order flow for you. there's always been huge disadvantages to that. nothing is stopping any cunning retail investor from doing what i described and bypassing the Robinhood *******s

algo funds taking cents off their trades from latency arbritage? (yes, you have lost cents on your trades....big deal. If you have a huge problem with it, NOTHING is stopping you from a purchasing your own colocation space and telco line in the NYSE datacenter in Mahwah and running trades with similar latency levels of the quant boyos ; will just cost you hundred of thousands a month fees).

There’s always winners and losers but it is a fact that nobody on Wallstreet is having champagne and laughing at the plebs this week, so it’s much more effective than OWS.

plenty of wall street firms are making a killing this week.
strong anti wallstreet movement that allowed citadel dat dere sweet order flow to scalp price arbitrage on the exchanges with their superior execution speed, all the sell side firms made a killing on large block trades from panicked funds short GME, any firm long GME or trading it volatility made a killing, etc etc
yeah, really took down wall street
not to mention GME is a super small fraction of the overall equities market

The wsb guys who started it have their own little culture and that's cool. The kids who just heard about and are rushing in to hold the bag and/or think pumping dogecoin or nokia is the french revolution are a bit unsettling.
Wall St never loses as a whole, but hopefully a few hedge fund individuals learn a lesson the hard way and not just the kids.

These hedge fund guys are sometimes literally married to politicians and will coincidentally buy or sell in the advance of political actions.
And that’s to say nothing of the dinners hedge fund managers have to discuss “ideas.” And everyone knows what those ideas are.
But that doesn’t concern Senators like Elizabeth Warren, Redditors causing market volatility needs to be investigated.

It doesn’t matter if not every firm lost money, some of them did. Logically, short squeezes are a more effective attack on Wallstreet than protesting and camping in Central Park.

FUk that, I think it's terrific. Why are people so miserable at others' success.
it's the best/interesting news story, I've heard in years. Brah invested $50k and it's worth $44M.
A guy on here recommended it 10 days ago. WE should have all jumped on the train. I didn't, I'm not kicking myself for it because I've had other stuff that was having success in.
Melvin got greedy phuck them
