Reparations should be given to people who were affected by Jim Crow era laws or during the Civil Rights movement. This is basically your parents, and grandparents.
My ancestors did more for this country than yours. Run me my $$ old man

The government could cut a 50k check to every black person in America and tomorrow we would have black leaders saying
“You think you can cut one measly check to black Americans to make up for the injustices done to the African American community? Reparations is a process, one that is far from over ect ect ext”
They would be demanding more the very next day.
The goal of reparations would be to essentially wash Americans hands of the injustices of the past in a way where black Americans are made whole, but that would have to come with the agreement that they can not demand more, and where they can no longer accuse America of injustice because it has been righted now. Obviously that is an agreement that is impossible to come to, therefore there is no point in reparations.

Your parents generation were directly affected, thus YOUR generation was directly affected by racism and laws governed by this country

I do not believe in current times, skin color plays any role in success whatsoever.
We are in the most fair and equal society in human history, think about that for a second, and people and complaining non-stop it's crazy.
Everyone knows about injustices in previous generations, perhaps this still impacts your starting point to some degree, ok but the playing field has been equal for some time now - it's upto the black demographic to prosper and take responsibility for their own future, still complaining about the past at this point is just looking for handouts and does nothing to help black people at all. You just have a demographic of people with a victims mentality, take control and responsibility for your own life.

Black culture is unfortunately a culture of crime, drugs, violence, misogyny, lack of value for education, unwed mothers, lack of father figures, and victim-mentality. All thanks to the Liberal Democrat policies and propaganda of the last 60 years. Liberal Democrats want to keep black people dependent and enslaved and victims because that helps their power base. Liberal Democrats are the Ultimate Racists.

You ensure everyone has the same opportunities, at that point it's upto black folk to take control of their own futures.

But I do believe those affected/lived during the Jim Crow era laws deserve something. There is no "perhaps it still impacts your starting point".. IT DOES IMPACT YOUR STARTING POINT, there is no debate regarding this topic

While working to end racism is a noble cause, reparations are a pipe dream that rests upon people in today's world somehow being entitled to money because of things that happened 50-150+ years ago to other people. The world just doesn't work that way. Not to mention that the vast, vast majority of people who would be paying for them had absolutely nothing to do with slavery and didn't even live here when it occurred, so thinking they owe you something is absurd. FWIW, how different do you think your life would be if your ancestors were never brought here and instead you were born in Guinea-Bissau or the Democratic Republic of Congo? If the amount of thought and effort that goes into things like this went into making positive changes we'd be a lot farther along than we are when it comes to race relations.
Was slavery wrong? Of course. Lots of things that happened in the past were wrong. But they happened, and that's life. Work toward things you can change in the present rather than trying to cause division by looking to the past.

Black people were mistreated by the government and brought here against their will. As reperations, we should pay for them to relocate to any country of their choice so they can escape this oppressive system in the US

I don't see reparations as a realistic thing. I think of it as a buzzword used to garner attention or votes.
Any type of reparations would either be seen as not enough for some, or too costly overall. What the government could do (but won't) is disincentivize single parenthood. Technically that would help everyone, but since it hits us the hardest, we'd see the biggest impact.

Reparations: The same reparations that white people can get if their ancestors were taken/held as slaves by North Africans. None.

Pretty sure there are already reparations in place and have been for decades. Welfare, affirmative action, selective hiring in the private sector even etc.
