Say, ˹O believers,˺ We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us; and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants; what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. And to Allah we all submit.

You're a good man for wanting to help out and be with your parents. Your gf is being selfish. Not supporting you or having your back through something this difficult speaks volumes.

You know what to do and best wishes.

Wow, she sounds srsly selfish. If she's in her 20's, that's not surprising. I'm so sorry about your dad. That must be really hard to see him in so much pain and your mom so upset. You're a good son for helping them both out.

As for your girlfriend, wow. If she doesn't want you to be there for your old man in every way possible, that's a tell tale sign of what she will do to you in the future. I'll refrain from harsher language because I don't know the intricacies of your relationship with her, but don't you haven't been warned.

good luck to you
Fuak bro. I couldnt see my grandpa when he was dying cause he lived far away from here and my mom said I shouldnt go cause he was being in a coma but damn, until this day I regret that. I really loved that old funny kvnt and I still miss him. Fuark life srs too much pain to bear when you love your family.

She is being unfair.

My father in law has alzheimer's, when we were dating before we got married he moved in to help his dad and I moved with him (I was 25) and rented out my condo and still do as an Airbnb. It wasn’t easy, his dad is very mean and hard to live with tbh but he only had us to help and still only has us. He can’t drive and gets lost and walks out of the house wearing nothing sometimes

The one thing that was hardest for me is I want to have a kid and it would be pretty hard in the current living situation. Hubby has three boys part time from his first wife and there just is not enough room in this house on top of that I’m not getting any younger and I think maybe there just won’t be a chance for me to ever have kids

But I love my husband and my step kids ( they aren’t little kids all teenagers) even my father in law. They are my family and my parents are my hubby’s family. If you love someone you make sacrifices and work together

She hasn't been with you your entire life. Your family has.

There are very few good reasons to be at home at 35. Yours is one of them. If she doesnt realize that then it isnt your problem

If your gf can't understand the sentiment behind your decision, it sounds like she majorly lacks empathy skills.

This is probably because she hasn't reconciled the emotional baggage that stems from her dysfunctional relationship with her own parents, causing her to try and separate you from yours (projective identification - look it up). In which case, red flag that you might want to raise with her.

Or, because she shares genes that result in empathy difficulties with her dysfunctional family. In which case, red flag.

Sorry about your dad OP.

She is 24... I guess at her age braggin about family its not something popular.

No money issues but I was hoping to get a new job 1k miles from here and now thats sound like a selfish thing to do. Its my dream job and I was so close to get it, Ive been working for that for the last 5 years and now its the worst moment to take that job. Life sometimes is huge bish.

She should understand family comes first at least IMO bro
She is 24 and lives with a friend. But covid its making hard for me to see her, my dad would definitely die if he caught that chit.

If you are into this for the long term, you probably want a girl who values the meaning of a family and having the back of each other. Clearly the one with you doesn't. I say let her go honestly.

I completely relate OP. That was the only major problem between my ex and I as I live at home to save my money for a house vs blowing it on apartments for no reason when she had her own place with a roommate. Wasn't like we didn't have a place to have sex, watch tv sleep together, shower together, cook etc.

End of first year together her true colors started coming out big time. My dad just had rotator cuff surgery on his 2nd shoulder. She flipped out on me for helping my dad work and fix on a porch literally a few weeks after his surgery vs spending the day with her when she was headed out of town for a whole 3 days the next week. I chose to help my dad like any good son would. Then my dog starts a few months long process of dying and I can't spend the night anymore because I have to get home to be there to pick her 100 pound body out of the floor every night and in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Her exact words were "so this is all I get" I spent like 4x a week with her and **** but couldn't leave a dad with rotator cuff surgery and my mom who's a tiny woman to be picking up a 100+ pound dog when it's my own dog. Dumped as a result. She comes back. Same arguments all over again. Never cared that instead of wasting money on a dumb apt, I took her on like 5 vacations in 8 months, was always spending the night, going to concerts. Nope just flipped her **** when I told her I wasn't moving into an apt that was over 60% of my guaranteed net income. Only an idiot would do that.

She's gone now and somebody else's problem. I don't miss the disrespect, manipulation, threats to leave me if I didn't move into an apt. Women like these don't love you for you. They love what you can provide and what they want and expect. Entitled, selfish, and unappreciative. Who wants that for a wife? Before her crazy ending, she told me to find somebody who would be happy with where I live and my lifestyle, her best case scenario would be a man with independence. Lol hope that works out for her and that is her holy grail of a man. Also like your current gf, my ex has zero relationship with her dad, and her mom is a chit show married 4x, and left her oldest son to fend for himself at 16 and moved multiple states away to be with a new husband. She was always jealous of and bashed my relationship with my parents.

I say to tell her this is how it's going to be, it's not your plans for the rest of your life but it is for now, and if it doesn't work for her then you hope she finds what she needs and is looking for and the relationship is over.
