LOL it's still at $51 a share. There are people who bought it when it was in the single digit range, even the double digit that got out of it when it was almost $500. Something like $35M worth of holdings on GME and I can bet you that a lot of those are people who bought when it was $300+ and they are camping out hoping it will resurge. I don't see that happening as most people if it does start to rise will sell as soon as they break even. Most need to cut their losses. It was a pump and dump on a grand scale and lots of people made out like bandits.

Not long ago watched about how a guy figured out how one of the games at a casino worked as far as the algorithm worked and played against it. Didn't cheat, but figured their game out. He got banned, and they changed the machines. Tried to sue, they sued him.I am an ETF / Mutual funds poocy but this was very interesting...

You’ll never see the term ‘bag holder’ better illustrated in investing than this. Literal cult like losers that got in at the end with a desire to make a quick buck , while convincing themselves they were sticking it to some hedge fund, only to lose big time
Congrats to the OG WSBers who made a mint off that. It was a fantastic play. The newbies though suck ass

I remember reading a post from WSB that said GameStop has good fundamentals and it's a smart play to hold lmao. That's a clear indication that those people got suckered into holding bags.

I think the pandemic crash was much closer to a "once in a lifetime event" if such a thing even exists. Something like COVID-19 is a 1-in-100-year occurrence, and the most recent equivalent would be the flu pandemic in 1918
Chitty stocks are pumped and dumped all the time, and short squeezes aren't really rare either. You could have thrown a dart at a board in March 2020 and have at least 2x gains right now while being able to comfortably invest a lot more money (and make bigger gains on a lower %) because you're buying established, successful companies whose stock prices have suddenly been hit by a once-in-a-century pandemic
Much easier than putting a smaller amount of money into an ultra-high-risk meme stonk hoping you're the 0.00000001% timing everything perfectly and making off like a bandit
