The only B-ball I watch anymore is the University team Myers played for, the UofI. I always felt bad for the kid, with his father dying young and his mom not being able to work due to back issues. Hope the Miami Heat show some mercy on Myers Leonard.

It's dumb what he said. But I doubt if he actually knew what the word meant that he would be willing to jeopardize his sponsorships and career for a livestream. I think what likely happened is the dude browsed one too many 4chan threads, saw the word being used in the context of some profanity-laced tirade and decided to use it on a Twitch stream in an attempt to be edgy/funny. But didn't actually know what the word meant specifically and just assumed it was just some random made-up 4chan/misc lingo. just lol.

so I kind of believe him when he said he didn't know what the word meant. as hard as that is to believe. IMO I think it's harder to believe he would willingly jeopardize everything from sponsorships to his NBA tenure over saying a "racist" word on a twitch stream considering guys like Nick Cannon and Desean Jackson also caught flack for it and the hyper-racialized environment we seem to be in nowadays.
