Probably shares the same etymology. What do you call ethnic Finns? Scots and Irish once called each other Gaels, in Gaelic the English as still called Saxons (Sassainach).

Lol we are all native Finns. We only have the Laplanders or gypsies that are others.

Of course now we have ****lis too and maybe some other groups that I'm not even aware of since I've been gone so long.
