nope, my gf has done a lot to help push me in directions in life that made me happier and more money, I really like the support system we have and the unit we are together and we share the same passions and enjoyments in life. have no desire to smash other women.

Nope.

Even if I did want them, I'm not financially set up enough to give them a great start in life, and I also don't have a wife, let alone one who is capable of being a good mother (good luck finding one)

So no I'm not going to be selfish and bring a kid into the world under those circumstances.

And dont let people tell you "legacy" matters when they will be dead in the dirt. I guarantee all the people that preach "Legacy " can't even name their great great grandfather or even know what he did for a living.

My daughter was asleep by 6 weeks. I followed a certain set of books to get her to sleep through the night ASAP.

Yes it's not easy at all but the joy makes it worth it, for those of us who want kids. I know plenty of people who don't have kids and are happy traveling and living life in a different manner.

It's not like you have a biological clock, so don't worry about it.

I didnt for years. Even said we never would think about it. But now in my later 40s and 3 kids later, I wouldn't want it any other way.

Life became basic with it just being me and my wife. Life was great but it was like bland chicken after 8 years marriage. It was like there was a lack of motivation to grow because we didn't have a reason. Not saying we didn't grow but we accomplished whatever we wanted in life by that time.

Growth after you achieve what you want is a terrible fight with yourself. Since having kids, our who reason for life has been new, and fulfilling yet again.

I couldn't imagine deciding to go back to the way it was. If it happens it'll be by no choice of my own.

I only read a few posts. Most of you should NOT even think about having kids. We have enough emotionally immature people who didn't receive the right guidance growing up. They raised kids that turned out to bully other kids.. and many (surprise?) never "grow out" of that phase. Some do. But you need to be mentally stable, have genuine empathy for the human race, never-ending patience and financial means (depending on where you live)- not just the desire to "think" you want kids. IDK, much of the misc dosen't seem capable enough to me.
Fact: My first-generation uncle was a boxer who fought Sugar Ray Robinson! He also fought in the war, sacrificing the career he deeply loved, so people could have the right to freedom.

I understand.

When I'm 40+ I'll think about kids. Seems like the best age for a man to have kids too, you know enough of the world by then and should have some solid wisdom and life skills by then. And of course financial stability.

I'm not sure what is happening to me: late 20s, starting to accept I probably won't have any kids before late 30s, because I won't even finish and reach my career/education goal before mid 30s

Starting to get those feelings of "why bring a kid into this world, which is getting more and more fuked up compared to how I grew up"

On top of that, finding a good woman who matches me seems to be harder and harder as well

I am not stressing about it now, but I can imagine turning late 30s and start to maybe miss having a kid. But maybe not

I did have a chance a few years ago, luckily did not happen

honestly the reason i don't want kids is because i genuinely don't think life is good enough, in general, to feel good about subjecting someone to living without their consent.

of course there are good parts, but overall i don't think it's worth it. unless i fully escaped the 'grind' and had enough money to set something up for them so they weren't a wagecel and could do something they actually enjoyed - then i probably would.

pretty much everyone who has kids never thinks about that kid as a grown up adult. yeah they might do something they enjoy for 40+ hours a week, but also there's a huge chance they'll have to do something boring **** for 40+ hours a week and mostly not enjoy life that much. i just couldn't feel good if i brought someone into the world without some kind of a hand up or opportunity to not live like this :

I think people who do are absolute ****s and are selfish

Imo everyone who starts having children before the age of 40 and tells you ''it's worth it'' says so because they love their children too much now and it's too late to envision a life without them.

Always thought I'd grow into wanting them, but I am nearing 40 and still have absolutely no desire. I do think I will perhaps wish I had kids when I am old and dying, perhaps, but don't think that what if is a good reason to alter my life into what would be misery for me right now. Lucky I am with a girl who feels the same. We are some of the happiest people I know, ample free time, and in great financial shape for our incomes. I've started to look at my dream home on a lake and thinking about retiring. Wouldn't change a thing.

More and more people are going to no kids life. I think as a human race we evolve to now being occupied and satisfied with many things in life as in times of old people just had kids, because what else you gonna do? Obviously at my age most of my friends have kids, some really enjoy being parents while others are completely miserable and shouldn't have fallen to the societal pressure to have children.

Ask a fat person or an obese person, "how many years have you been pregnant?" and "how many kids are you expecting?"

For a valentine's day card, put a picture of an old person with dementia on the cover, caption inside:

"Happy Valentine's Day,
I'm always thinking of you
But I forget"

(Because of dementia)

I want a fuking football team worth of kids. Families these days are so fukked with people only having an average of 1-2 kids sometimes 3 max. When I'm an old kunt I wanna be able to invite my all my sons and daughters round for big dinners etc. I can also die happy knowing my children all have each other for support whatever it may be. Hopefully my sons will have more sons and my family line will carry on for eternity and not just die off like you see happening all the time with people that have no siblings and only have 1 daughter, daughter gets married off, name gone. End of story. Fuk that.

Itโ€™s not just about having kids. Itโ€™s about having a family.

Like Woody Harrelson said in True Detective had some truth to it. โ€œAt a certain point, a man without a family....can be a bad thing.โ€

Iโ€™m leaning more towards not having kids but either choice is a gamble which I fukking HATE because Iโ€™m not a gambler.

Our entire society is built around "you should start a family" Na, unless you have full on baby fever and know you want a bunch of kids, you dont actually want kids. You just think you do because is the "norm".

Dude it really does get better. And you have to take time for yourself and not feel guilty about it. It can be done.

The first 3-4 years are like a combat zone. It's hard to prepare for it. But I guarantee you, you will look back at it and miss it in a few years when the kids become less dependent.
