Remember pre-Covid there were a chit ton of white supremacist attacks and shootings by black extremists against Jews. There were even a few mass shootings in NY. If the media scapegoats Asians like they have been, they suffer the brunt of the attacks and the attacks against the Jews come to an end.

There is no incentive to stop it, because with careful narrative control and censorship they can convince most people that it is right wing white people doing this, and use that to persecute political opposition.
I think Asians are also a more urbanized population and being urban = proximity to black people. You don't see black people in the countryside unless it's South Carolina and ironically race relations tend to be better in the South than in other parts.

If you think of the concentrated poverty in the cities that Asians and blacks commonly reside in (LA, NYC, Houston, etc) then the stats makes sense.
But I haven't really seen any anti Asian hate here down south
